Brazeau County council has approved the use of special ballots in the upcoming reeve byelection.
Special ballots will be available for residents who are unable to attend a voting station on byelection day or during advance voting.
Applications for a special ballot can be made via telephone, email, or in person to the returning officer or substitute returning officer. For this byelection, Courtney Whalen is acting as the returning officer and can be reached at election@brazeau.ab.ca or 780-542-7777.
The byelection is scheduled for Nov. 2, with an advance voting day planned for Oct. 28.
The advance vote will take place at the Brazeau County Administration Office between 12-8 p.m. On byelection day, one voting station will be open in each division.
Although bookings have not been confirmed, the proposed voting stations include:
- Easyford Community Hall
- Violet Grove Community Hall
- Brazeau County Administration Office
- Whitby Hall
- Lindale Hall
- Buck Creek Hall
For residents interested in running in the byelection, Intent to Run and Nomination forms are now available at the county office.
Nominations close at noon on Oct. 5.
