Brazeau County council has scheduled a byelection for the position of reeve for Nov. 2, 2026.
Nominations will be accepted until noon on Oct. 5, and nomination packages are available now at the county office.
Division 6 Councillor Dallas Ekstrom will serve as acting reeve until after the election, and Division 1 Councillor Glen Gunderson will serve as deputy reeve.

The byelection has been scheduled following the resignation of former Reeve Bart Guyon, who reportedly stepped down due to health reasons.
