Brazeau County reports that due to forecasted heavy rainfall and rising water levels, TransAlta expects to begin controlled releases of water from the Brazeau Reservoir.
In the interest of public safety, county officials ask residents and visitors to avoid the affected area, including nearby roads, campgrounds, shoreline areas and recreational access points. Closed areas are also to be avoided.
The county also asks the community to follow all posted signage, road closures and directions from the RCMP, emergency management officials and authorized personnel.
