A special weather statement for Brazeau, Parkland and Yellowhead County has been upgraded to a rainfall warning.
Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) says rain is expected to begin tonight, June 26, and become a broad area of heavy rain by tomorrow morning.
Rain is expected to continue through the weekend, with some areas seeing it stretch into next week, but confidence in that forecast is low at this time.
Total amounts are expected to reach 40 to 70 mm.
With the ground already saturated from the storm this past weekend and rainfall totals for June well above normal, officials say additional rain is likely to cause overland flooding, washouts and impacts to infrastructure and property.
Residents of the affected areas are also reminded not to drive through flooded roadways.
Parts of Yellowhead County are also under a severe thunderstorm watch.
