The Pontiaccs responded later in the period, however, tying it 1-1 heading into the first intermission.
Bonnyville then scored the lone goal of the second period, on the powerplay at 14:02, following a five-minute major blow to the head penalty and 10-minute game misconduct for Drayton Valley’s Lachlan Staniforth, making it 2-1 after 40.
There was no scoring in the third period, leaving the Pontiacs with two points.

The Thunder responded, however, when Caedem Emmett scored his third of the season at 13:15, on the powerplay, following a holding penalty to Lloydminster’s Landen Ward. Taynton Lavender and Oskar Aitken-Salmons assisted on the play to tie it 1-1.
The second period saw Lloydminster go up 2-1 at the 2:55 mark while on the powerplay following a high sticking infraction to the Thunder’s Oskar Aitken-Salmons.
Drayton Valley evened it up though, when Keston Beagle scored his second goal of the season at 7:48, to make it 2-2. Dylan Snelgrove picking up the lone assist on that one.
The Thunder’s Tayton Lavender would then put the home side up 3-2 when he scored his seventh of the season at 7:58, on the power play, following a tripping penalty to Lloydminster’s Ryder Ellis. Daniel Zhou and Dylan Snelgrove picked up the helpers on what turned out to be the game-winning goal.
Between the pipes, Drayton Valley’s Jac Carli stopped 28 of 30 shots on goal, while the Bobcats Sam Madgett stopped 17 of 20.
