September 17
9:20 a.m. – Violet Grove area – Complainant reported a break-in to a fenced compound overnight; fuel and a battery were stolen from equipment on site. No evidence located.
September 18
3:19 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported that her boyfriend tried to run her off the road and threatened to harm her. Members investigated, and charges are pending. The suspect had left the area prior to the call being dispatched and is known to evade police.
10:26 a.m. – Lodgepole – Complainant reported three persons had trespassed on his property. Member investigated, and tickets will be issued.
10:28 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported that his son may have been left alone while his ex was out of town for an appointment. Member suggested he call his son and confirm this information and, if it was true, go and pick up the boy; the complainant wanted police to attend. Member obtained assistance from Child and Family Services, who dealt with the issue.
1:38 p.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported a female seen trespassing on her sister’s property while the sister is out of town. Members attended and the suspect had left, though there was evidence someone tried to enter the home. Checks of surveillance also showed the female appeared to leave with a cat and called to an unseen male. Investigation determined that the female on video was a neighbour who came to the property to retrieve her cat, and that the attempt to enter was unrelated. Members continue to investigate the apparent attempted break-in.
4:36 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 53 Ave – Complainant requested a well-being check on a female lying behind a business. Members confirmed the female was okay but had nowhere to go until the shelter pods opened. Member suggested another location, which the female agreed was suitable.
6:11 p.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported receiving a message from an unknown male demanding a $500 gift card, or they would post fake nude photos for friends and family to see. Under investigation.
September 19
3:52 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 43 St – Members responded to a dropped 911 call where someone was heard yelling at someone who was ruining the party. A second call was received providing more information. Once on scene a very intoxicated male was arrested and held in cells overnight to sober up.
4:28 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 52 Ave – Complainant reported his truck stolen from the bar parking lot, sometime overnight. The truck is a 1998 green Dodge with plate CRS1524 attached.
4:56 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complaint received that an intoxicated female was causing problems at the bar. Members attended but the female had left. Members located the female about a block away at another business; she was arrested and held in cells overnight to sober up.
5:49 p.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 620 – Member requested to assist a sheriff after two motorcyclists fled an attempted traffic stop; the motorcycles had been driving at over 150 km/h. Member patrolled the area but did not locate the suspects.
11:35 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Willey West – Complainant reported an intoxicated family member causing issues at a family camping trip. Members attended and gave the male a ride to another location for the night.
September 20
1:47 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported being locked out of her house and wanted help to break-in. Member attended and with permission entered via an open window and then let the complainant in. And yes, members confirmed it was her residence.
1:56 a.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Member on patrol stopped a motorcycle that may have been a match to a report earlier in the evening (see report on Sept. 19 at 5:49 p.m.). The motorcycle was not involved in the earlier incident, but the driver was found to be impaired after he provided two breath samples, both of which resulted in a “fail.” A 90-day provincial impaired driving suspension was issued, the motorcycle was impounded and the driver and passenger were provided a ride home.
2:20 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported two males at a group home were intoxicated and refusing to go to bed. Members attended and arrested both, who were held in cells overnight to sober up. One of the males was charged with failing to comply with a probation order, he was released to appear in court later.
4:42 a.m. – Brazeau County – Cynthia area – Complainant reported a break-in to a lease site with extensive damage done. Members attended; site heavily damaged though it appeared the suspects had been scared off. Patrols of the area did not locate any suspects. Under investigation.
10:58 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported an unwanted male had returned to a group home despite not being a client. Members attended and determined the male was looking for belongings left behind; anything remaining was provided to the male by the complainant. Members advised the male that he was trespassed from the location and to not return. Male involved in incident reported at 2:20 a.m.
12:16 p.m. – Poplar Ridge – Complainant requested a well-being check on her daughter after hearing some threats from unknown persons during a phone call. Member attended and had the female collect her things and then provided her a ride home. The alleged threats remain under investigation.
12:33 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Northview Pond area – Complainant reported a female had been standing in front of her residence wearing a bandana and pointing a finger gun at her. Members located and identified the female at a nearby residence and determined that the suspect is dealing with some mental health issues and did not intent to make any threats. Members told the suspect to remain on her own property. Members did not have sufficient grounds to apprehend the female under the Mental Health Act.
3:32 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Splash Park – Complainant reported an intoxicated male harassing people in the area. Members attended and arrested an intoxicated male who was held in cells to sober up. The male was released with two violation tickets and a court date to answer to a charge of mischief. See 2:20 a.m. and 10:58 a.m. for related files.
September 21
12:18 a.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported her spouse was intoxicated, yelling and breaking things in the residence. Members attended and found the male had left the residence and was not in the area. Members determined there were insufficient grounds to charge the male and further patrols did not locate him driving impaired. Complainant went to another family residence, file open for followup.
8:59 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported a female entered a location acting, saying and writing down nonsensical things. Members located the female who was apprehended under the Mental Health Act and transported to Ponoka Centennial Center for mental health treatment.
12:32 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave – Complainant reported some students were approached by an unknown older female who was asking for some of the items they had. Member patrolled the area but did not locate the female, possibly due to a half hour time delay in reporting.
12:38 p.m. – Brazeau County – RR 80 – Complainant reported a suicidal female who had just left a residence in a vehicle. Member made patrols and located the female who was apprehended and transported to Ponoka Centennial Center for mental health treatment.
4:19 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 53 Ave – Complainant reported a male who had been trespassed from a location had returned and was intoxicated. Member attended and arrested the male who was held in cells to sober up; again.
6:50 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 52 Ave – Staff at the bar reported an unknown female harassing patrons and refusing to leave. Members attended and located the female, who had since walked up the block. Members advised her to not return to the bar; her behaviour appeared to be related to mental health issues.
September 22
10:14 a.m. – Drayton Valley – File opened to charge a male who failed to appear in court.
11:43 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Files opened to charge two males who failed to appear for fingerprints.
2:38 p.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported a neighbour’s dogs came onto his property and killed some chickens. Member spoke to both parties; the owners of the dogs will be making amends with the owners of the chickens, and will ensure it does not happen again.
3:45 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 52 St – Complainant reported an intoxicated male at the entrance to an apartment building. Member located the male and provided a ride so he could speak to the community outreach worker who was arranging for a ride so he could go back home to a nearby community.
4:24 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave – Complainant reported that she had been assaulted by a male acquaintance who injected substances into her eyes. On arrival it was determined the male had not been there, and that the issue was just a recurring problem of people sending images to the TVs in the complainant’s eyes. Member apprehended the female under the Mental Health Act and transported her to Ponoka Centennial Center for treatment.
7:31 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported that sometime over the previous night the nozzle, pump and hose was stolen from the slip tank in his work truck. Under investigation.
8:25 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported that her teenage son was refusing to leave her room and go to bed; complainant requested police as she didn’t want it to escalate. Members attended and found that the son was already in his room. Members had a frank discussion with the youth about behaviours that are upsetting his mother. Some suggestions were provided to access other resources.
September 23
5:07 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported another female had assaulted her. Members attended and found that the complainant just wanted the female removed from the property where she had taken up residence in the garage. Members removed the female from the garage.
6:49 a.m. – Lodgepole area – Complainant reported a lease site break-in and theft that occurred at about 1:30 a.m. Under investigation.
12:29 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Bailiff requesting assistance due to unsuccessful attempts to repossess a vehicle since last December. Under investigation to determine if police can assist.
2:35 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Member generated investigation during which three people were arrested for possession for the purpose of trafficking drugs. Drugs were seized, file remains under investigation.
