With the Oct. 19 referendum on the horizon, Elections Alberta still needs more than 140 ballot counters in the Drayton Valley—Devon electoral district.
Elections Alberta says these positions are paid and training is provided.
“We have a significant number of positions left to fill, and our biggest need right now is for people who can help with the count,” said Sandi Dahl, Returning Officer, Drayton Valley—Devon. “These are paid positions, training is provided and there are some great opportunities for people who want to join our team.”
Local non-profits, sports teams, school groups and other community organizations can also participate through the Group Election Worker Program, with Elections Alberta paying the organization directly.
Anyone interested in working the referendum is asked to apply as soon as possible through Elections Alberta.
