A new road closure begins Monday in Drayton Valley to accommodate ongoing water main construction.
From Sept. 14 to about Oct. 14, 56 Avenue will be closed from 49A Street to 42 Street.
Construction work is expected to occur between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Monday to Saturday, and 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sundays.
The closure is part of a series expected over the next two months. As closure locations change, the town says it will notify directly affected residents through door-to-door notices.
Signage and traffic personnel will also be on site to help direct traffic.
The town says the water main upgrade should strengthen Drayton Valley’s water system.
Residents with questions or concerns about the project can contact 780-514-2240.
