One person has died and three others taken to hospital following a crash in Parkland County this week.
On July 26, 2026, at 12:49 p.m., Parkland RCMP responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 627 and Highway 779 in Parkland County.
Parkland RCMP officers arrived and began life saving measures until Parkland County Fire and EMS arrived.
Mounties say the collision involved two S.U.V.’s, one heading east on Highway 627 and the other heading south on Highway 779. Police say the eastbound SUV was occupied by a 42-year-old female, and two children, ages 4 and 6 years old. All three occupants sustained serious injuries and were transported to hospital for treatment.
RCMP note, however, the 73-year-old female driver and lone occupant of the southbound S.U.V., sustained life-threatening injuries and was air-lifted by STARS air ambulance to hospital. On July 28, 2026, Mounties say the driver succumbed to her injuries.
Parkland RCMP extend their condolences to the family and friends of the injured and the deceased.
