June 25
8:57 a.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported being defrauded of approximately $60,000 through an online cryptocurrency investment scam. Unfortunately, due to the nature of the scam, investigation is next to impossible. Money was transferred to a crypto account that the suspects had access to, after which the funds were transferred out.
9:37 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported a suspect on an ATV had trespassed through an industrial yard the day before, almost colliding with equipment.
1:40 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported ongoing unwanted contact from a family member. Member spoke to the family member and advised that contact was not wanted and to stop making attempts.
4:38 p.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported a sighting of a stolen truck on Range Road 63 approximately an hour earlier. Complainant believed it was a truck stolen from Red Deer on June 24. Members patrolled the area but did not locate any similar trucks.
5:54 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported her partner had grabbed her and punched her. Members attended and arrested a male who was held for a telephone bail hearing and released by a justice of the peace with conditions and a court date.
8:26 p.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported a possible impaired driver, a female who was allegedly intoxicated and had been squatting in a campground and was believed to be in the area collecting belongings. Members patrolled the area but did not locate the female or her older red car.
11:41 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St S – Complainant reported that a teen who had been trespassed the day before was seen peeking through a back window, possibly planning to shoplift again. Member attended, but the youth was not located. Member located and spoke to a parent who was told to start parenting.
June 26
12:38 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported that his roommate was suicidal. Members attended and determined that the male was not suicidal, though his new medications were causing issues. Member transported the male to hospital to speak to a doctor.
8:36 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported that a female attempted to hit a male with an axe but had since left the area. Members spoke to the suspect who admitted being near the male but denied any axe swinging. Members spoke to the male who did not wish to provide a statement and had not actually been assaulted.
12:16 p.m. – Parkland County – Complainant reported a neighbour threatened her livestock due to a broken fence. Member attended and spoke to the complainant learning that the alleged threat happened a couple weeks earlier. Complainant did not want the neighbour spoken to.
12:41 p.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported being defrauded in a cryptocurrency investment fraud. Under investigation.
1:31 p.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported an erratic driver in a picker truck on Highway 22. Member attended and located the truck entering town. A traffic stop was conducted and a MAS (mandatory alcohol screening) demand read. The driver provided two samples of his breath, which both resulted in a “fail.” As a result, the driver was issued a 90-day provincial impaired driving suspension, and the company truck he was driving was impounded.
2:26 p.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported copper wire stolen from a site.
2:38 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Warrant added for a female who failed to comply with probation conditions.
8:04 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant seeking advice on how to deal with the aggressive parent of a minor who assaulted her son. Member met with the complainant and provided some advice.
11:10 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported that his son received a text from a male who is in a relationship with the complainant’s ex, stating he would beat him up. Members spoke to the potential victim who did not want to cooperate with an investigation. The suspect was not at the residence at the time.
June 27
2:06 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported the suspect from a previous file had returned intoxicated and was causing a disturbance. Members attended and arrested the male as he had an outstanding warrant. The male was held in cells and released when sober with a court date.
3:56 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Members attended a residence for a report of a suicidal youth. The youth was apprehended under the Mental Health Act and transported to a designated facility for treatment.
1:35 p.m. – Cynthia – Complainant reported a neighbour was being scammed by a male she met online; sending money to the male as he claimed he was stranded in another country. Member spoke to the neighbour and advised her she was being scammed and to stop sending money; she was not receptive to the information provided.
9:00 p.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported she was having a dispute with her roommate. Members attended and found that the complainant was intoxicated. Members found her an alternate location to spend the night.
10:36 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported that her son had been threatened by a former friend who said he was driving to town to assault him. The dispute may have been the result of the suspect thinking his former friend had been intimate with the suspects ex-girlfriend. Complainant only wanted police to be aware of the threats.
June 28
10:25 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave – Complainant reported an unknown male yelling and swearing at drive-thru staff due to a mistake on his order. The male then came in and demanded a refund; he left when police were called.
1:50 p.m. – Parkland County – Complainant reported that an unregistered non-running older Ford Bronco was stolen from a property he owns. Under investigation.
5:40 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave/50 St – Members attended a collision between a vehicle and a cyclist. The cyclist was injured and transported to hospital in Edmonton. Collision remains under investigation.
8:12 p.m. – Brazeau County – Lodgepole area – Complainant reported property damage at a lease site.
June 29
10:32 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported being defrauded after receiving a call offering to lower the amount of her cell phone plan. Under investigation.
2:05 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported his bike stolen from his carport on June 26; the theft was caught on camera, but the suspect was not identified. Complainant suspects a worker at an event that weekend may be responsible.
3:59 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 52 Ave – Member on patrol approached a parked vehicle with two occupants. Upon identifying the occupants, a 31-year-old female was arrested on an outstanding warrant from another jurisdiction. Additionally, she was charged with two counts of failing to comply with conditions of an undertaking and two counts of possession of a controlled substance. She was held for a telephone bail hearing and released by a justice of the peace to appear in court at a future date.
8:52 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported that a former friend of her son’s had been making threats. Member investigated and determined damage had been done to a residence and the son’s wallet had been stolen. Suspect is believed to have left the area. Under investigation, charges pending.
June 30
2:35 a.m. – Brazeau County – area of the dam – Complainant reported that her uncle was intoxicated and aggressive at a campsite near the dam. Other members of the camping party felt unsafe. Members attended and gave the intoxicated uncle a ride home.
8:46 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Assist probation by adding a warrant for a male who failed to comply with conditions.
2:59 p.m. – Drayton Valley – File opened to investigate a report of historical sexual assaults.
July 1
9:12 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Hwy 22 – Complainant requested a well-being check on a female seen sitting on the side of the highway at the south end of town. Member located the female who was given a ride to the shelter pods.
