A Gunn resident is one of seven students from across Canada receiving support for their agriculture education.
The Canadian Agri-Business Education Foundation (CABEF) awards scholarships of $2,500 to support post-secondary students studying agriculture or agri-food at a Canadian university, college, or technical institute.
This year, Max Burris, of Gunn, was one of four recipients in western Canada.
“We continue to be inspired by the passion, leadership and commitment these students demonstrate toward the future of Canadian agriculture,” says Michelle Bertholet, Chair, CABEF. “This year’s recipients represent the innovation, resilience and forward-thinking mindset that will help shape and strengthen Canada’s agri-food industry for years to come.”
Applicants were evaluated based on their leadership experience and their written or video response identifying an emerging issue impacting Canada’s agriculture and food industry and explaining how young leaders can help address the challenge or opportunity.
