May 28
11:46 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Staff at a retail store reported an unknown suspect posting racist stickers within the business. Under investigation.
1:45 p.m. – Brazeau County – A female youth called 911 for assistance in contacting her father, as her phone was dying. Members attended a location to speak with the female, who was uncooperative and wouldn’t disclose the issue. The youth was given a courtesy ride to town to speak to a CFS worker, but the lack of cooperation continued and she simply walked off. Member unaware where her father was at the time.
3:09 p.m. – Brazeau County – Twp Rd 502 – Complainant reported a female with a truck acting suspiciously, with belongings out of the truck and scattered about. Members attended, but the intoxicated female refused to identify herself. As a result, she was arrested for obstructing a peace officer and held in cells to sober up. Several violation tickets were issued to the female, who was not from the area.
5:00 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 51 Ave – Complainant reported a female possibly in distress, bent over and drooling. Member attended and spoke to two females who were both likely under the influence of an illicit substance, but not in distress.
8:39 p.m. – Drayton Valley – File opened to investigate suspicious, likely drug-related traffic from a location.
10:42 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 51 Ave – Complainant reported two males had been on the roof of a business but had since left toward 52 Avenue. Members checked the area, including the bar, but could not locate the suspects. Complainant reported no damage had been done.
May 29
12:49 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Members learned that a male on a Canada-wide warrant for breaching his statutory release was in the area. Patrols were made at various locations and eventually the male was located at a friend’s residence. The 23-year-old was arrested and returned to custody via the sheriffs the following day.
6:06 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported a male who lives across from the rear of his apartment building had been yelling racial slurs at him and his friends, which then escalated to an altercation. Members attended and investigated; the male neighbour who was intoxicated, was charged with assault.
8:13 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 55 St – Complainant reported a known male attended a business and left with a skid of property. Member spoke to both parties, under investigation.
9:11 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported that he was fearful for his safety as a male who he had an altercation with earlier was on his (not the complainants) patio with his arms crossed. Member advised there was no offence occurring but to call if anyone was on his property. See 6:06 p.m.
9:33 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Power Center Blvd – Complainant reported a female just shoplifted a cart of items and left in a grey Kia SUV. Under investigation, plate for the SUV provided.
9:46 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported his neighbours were now nodding and winking with their arms crossed. Related to reports at 6:06 p.m. and 9:11 p.m. Complainant was also upset that the responding members were “new Canadians.” Police did not attend.
9:53 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported that her son was apparently heading to her residence after recently being arrested on unrelated matters in southern Alberta. Member spoke to the complainant, and a safety plan was made. No further reports and no indication that the male came to the area.
10:49 p.m. – Brazeau County – RR 80 – Member on patrol located two males on an ATV. Member observed several offences and turned around to conduct a traffic stop. The males tried their best evasive tactics but were unsuccessful. Investigation determined that the ATV had been stolen in the Crowsnest Pass area in September of 2024. The ATV was recovered and both males were charged with possession of stolen property and released on scene with a court date.
11:13 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 43 St – Complainant reported that an intoxicated male acquaintance was at her residence and got into a tussle with a neighbour. Members attended and eventually transported the intoxicated male to a hotel for the night.
May 30
6:06 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported neighbours who he had an altercation with were standing on their deck with their arms crossed, which the complainant felt was a threat. Member advised this was not a threat, after which the complainant made comments suggesting his concerns may be motivated by a dislike for the race of the neighbours. See previous files reported May 29.
10:30 p.m. – Poplar Ridge area – Member on patrol observed a motorcycle leave from a side road and head toward town at high speed. Member quickly located the motorcycle crashed by McDonald’s and found an acquaintance taking his friend to hospital due to injuries from the crash. Investigation led to the rider being issued tickets for offences including operating while suspended, operating without insurance and operating without registration. A criminal charge is also pending as the plate attached had been stolen in November. The motorcycle was not reported stolen but was impounded due to the suspended driving.
May 31
12:40 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Members responded to an iPhone crash notification and located an SUV that had crashed into a decorative metal pole. Members determined that the SUV had been heading south, left the road and hit the pole then backed up into a smaller pole. The SUV was heavily damaged and the driver was issued a 90-day provincial impaired driving suspension after providing two breath samples, both of which resulted in a “fail.”
2:18 p.m. – Drayton Valley – File opened to charge a male who failed to attend for fingerprints.
June 1
3:36 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Restraining order received to be served on a local male.
4:23 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported his elderly wife was suicidal. Members attended and paramedics transported the female to hospital.
7:20 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 52 Ave – Members responded to a report of two males fighting at the bar. Members arrived to find the combatants had separated and left the area; no reports of any injuries.
June 2
9:14 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported possible criminal harassment by her ex. Under investigation.
9:17 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Staff at a care home reported that an elderly male entered another resident’s room and hit the occupant as he believed it was his room. Member attended with paramedics; the elderly male he was taken to hospital for an assessment.
10:49 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Staff reported an unwanted male in the bathroom at the Team Auctions Centre, possibly doing drugs. Member located the male in the parking lot; he was warned to not return or he would be issued a trespassing ticket.
1:03 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported graffiti on a fence, occurred a couple times in the past week. Under investigation.
2:33 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 43 St – Complainant reported air let out of her tire and identified a possible suspect. Member spoke to the suspect who admitted responsibility and was warned as per the request of the complainant.
3:01 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Members observed a suspicious car with a mismatched license plate at a motel. A traffic stop was attempted but the car fled, driving through two school zones at high speed. Members were able to track the vehicle which entered a dead-end roadway where a passenger was dropped off. Members were able to block the car in and arrested the female driver who was charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, flight from police, possession of property obtained by crime and several traffic tickets. A 43-year-old was held for a telephone bail hearing and released by a justice of the peace. Several outstanding warrants were also dealt with during the hearing. She has a court date later in June.
3:35 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Members attended a residence to assist paramedics with a male who may have attempted suicide. Paramedics transported the male to hospital for assessment.
3:44 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported that a male claiming to be a salesman and new to town asked if he could store his bike at the complainant’s residence while he was working. Complainant stated the male never returned and when he texted him about the bike the male stated the complainant could keep it. As the complainant did not want anything to do with the bike it was picked up by a member and will be held at the detachment.
5:08 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Hospital – Member dispatched to the hospital due to a fire alarm activated in a bathroom. Staff suspected someone was using drugs and set off the alarm. A female was arrested and a small quantity of suspected heroin was seized for destruction. No charges laid.
June 3
12:37 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported being harassed and threatened in an online server. Unable to ID the suspect who was subsequently blocked and banned by the server. Suspect may be in the U.S. but unconfirmed. Police suggest not providing information such as your actual address to unknown persons online.
12:43 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported that her ex entered her residence intoxicated and left when told to. Members located the male in the area and arrested him for being intoxicated in public. The male was released when sober on a related charge with appropriate conditions.
1:11 a.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 620 – Complainant reported that a family member was travelling to the Rocky Mountain House area with her boyfriend, allegedly to sell drugs and that the boyfriend was possibly driving impaired. Members unable to locate the two in the Drayton Valley area but forwarded the information to the Rocky Mountain House RCMP.
12:14 p.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 621 – Complainant reported that while unloading cattle one escaped and wasn’t located again. Complainant reporting for information.
2:36 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Staff at a business reported two persons rummaging through the business’s dumpster, which has been an ongoing issue. Members were unable to attend at the time.
4:03 p.m. – Parkland County – Complainant reported a family dispute and that her nephew threatened her and broke a lock to where she is keeping belongings. Member unable to reach the complainant at the time of the call. Second call received from the complainant at 5:19 p.m. reporting threats from the nephew; members attended and determined there were no criminal threats made. Member mediated between the two and the nephew left the location.
4:23 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St S – Member on patrol observed a truck pulling a trailer without a plate attached at a gas station. Member conducted a traffic stop and spoke to the occupants. Investigation at the time determined the driver was suspended, the truck was not insured and the trailer likely stolen. Both the truck and trailer were towed. It was later determined the trailer had been stolen in B.C. in 2024 and that the trailer contained items stolen elsewhere. Investigation is ongoing.
5:32 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported a possible breach after another male drove past and yelled obscenities at the complainant. Under investigation.
6:22 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported a female shoplifted a basket of items and left in a car. The description of the car matched one well-known to police. Patrols were made and the car was located at a residence known to police. After some words with the resident, a female exited with the basket of stolen items. The female was arrested and released with a court date, and the stolen items were returned to the store.
8:49 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant requested a wellbeing check on a neighbour boy as she could hear his mother’s boyfriend yelling loudly at him and using profanities. Member attended and found no offence had occurred, though a referral was made for followup by CFS.
9:38 p.m. – Parkland County – Complainant reported that her sister was at a family property with another female, and that she wanted that female charged for trespassing. Members attended and were told by the allegedly trespassing female that the complainant’s son threw a rock at her car and broke a window. No trespassing charge was laid and the female with the broken car window did not provide any further information to police.
10:50 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St S – Complainant reported that a male tried to siphon fuel from his truck in the truck parking lot. The complainant reported he stopped the male by grabbing him and punching him several times. The male suspect then got back into a black Dodge pickup and left. No identification made on the truck or the suspect, and police have yet to receive any report from the suspect regarding being assaulted.
June 4
1:40 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 43 St – Complainant reported a disturbance in the parking lot of the high school with loud music, talking and underage drinking. Members attended and found some graduating students having a campout with permission of administration. Attendees turned down the music and agreed that no one would be leaving, and the area would be cleaned up in the morning.
