The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit (MCU) is seeking public assistance regarding a recent aggravated assault reported near the Pembina Arena.
At 8:38 a.m. on May 27, Evansburg RCMP received a complaint that a male suspect allegedly hit someone with a pickup truck, put the person in the back of the truck and drove off.
The suspect and victim were located by the Evansburg and Drayton Valley RCMP, with help from Air Services, the Real Time Operation Centre and an Emergency Response Team. Police say the suspect fled the scene but was later arrested.
Due to the extent of the victim’s injuries, the MCU has taken over the investigation.
Evansburg RCMP asks anyone with footage from the area around the Pembina Arena between 8:20 and 9 a.m., or between the arena and Drayton Valley Hospital between 8:30 and 10:30 a.m., or any other information, to contact them at 780-727-3654.
