9:55 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported a female trespassing in the dump and refusing to leave. Member attended and learned that the unidentified female left after police were called.
12:11 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported another student poured mud on her daughter’s head. Member investigated, including reviewing surveillance video, and determined there were some inconsistencies in the report. No enforcement action taken.
5:13 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 43 St – Complainant reported youth spraying water guns and yelling at one another while making threats, apparently as a joke. Complainant reported kids were scared and hiding behind vehicles. Member checked out the situation and confirmed it was a game that is a tradition as graduation approaches for one of the high schools.
9:04 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported her house had been egged; suspect names provided, including from a witness. Under investigation.
9:34 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported a breach of conditions by a male who was on conditions not to be around the complainant’s ex. Member determined that the conditions were no longer in effect.
9:47 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 49 St – Member was conducting a traffic stop and observed a truck that is known to police come speeding out of an alley and drive up the road. The member also observed through an open window a passenger holding a “bong” used to inhale illicit drugs. Another member in the area located the truck as it was parking at a residence. A passenger known to be on house arrest got out of the truck and began walking to the residence but was directed back to the truck. On approach to the truck, a bong was observed in the passenger side of the truck, as well as open liquor in the center console. Both the driver and passenger were arrested for possession of a controlled substance; two other occupants were also detained. Members conducted a search of both males as well as the vehicle and seized a significant quantity of suspected cocaine, along with numerous knives and drug-related paraphernalia. The 43-year-old driver was arrested and held for a telephone bail hearing on a charge of possession for the purpose of trafficking; he was subsequently released by a justice of the peace with conditions and a court date. The 23-year-old male passenger was held for a telephone bail hearing on an allegation of breaching a conditional sentence order; he was remanded in custody. File remains under investigation.
10:29 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 47 St – Complainant reported a suspicious male in an alley lurking around backyards and yelling. Members located an intoxicated male who stated he was going home to bed, but wouldn’t state where that was. The male was arrested for public intoxication and held in cells to sober up.
May 1
5:00 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 53 Ave – Complainant reported a male and female were scratching at her apartment window. Member aware that a former tenant of the complainant’s suite had connections to known drug users, which is unfortunate for the complainant. Member spoke to the complainant and learned the unknown window scratchers had left the area.
3:00 p.m. – Poplar Ridge – Complainant reported seeing a wanted male at a residence. Member advised that the male’s warrants had already been dealt with.
3:25 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Industrial Rd – Complainant reported a male hitching up a U-Haul trailer. Member attended and determined there was a misunderstanding as the male had spoken to a local contractor but hadn’t made a contract with U-Haul. No criminal intentions.
May 2
3:07 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Power Ctr Blvd – Staff in a care home reported a female sleeping in the lobby. Members attended and removed the known female as she was not a resident.
4:53 a.m. – Poplar Ridge area – Complainant requested a ride home from police after drinking with a friend. Dispatcher checked and had to advise the male that the RCMP taxi service was unavailable.
12:55 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 56 Ave – Complainant reported being assaulted by a female acquaintance. Members attended and determined the complainant was the aggressor. Members de-escalated the situation as the potential victim did not want charges.
1:10 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Hospital – Staff reported that a male left without receiving the treatment he came for. Member advised that if located, police would tell him he should return to the hospital.
3:36 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported that a female is dealing drugs from a residence. Complainant also stated that she entered the female’s residence and yelled at her to stop. Member spoke to the complainant and suggested she not enter other people’s residences; police are aware of the female and activities at the residence.
7:34 p.m. – Brazeau County – RR85 – Complainant reported his ATV stolen from a field where he had been working on fences. The ATV was witnessed going down Hwy 620, apparently travelling with a sedan. Members located the sedan in town later and arrested a male and female in the vehicle. The 33-year-old male, of Drayton Valley, was charged with theft, weapons offences, possession of methamphetamine, failing to comply with a release order and weapons possession contrary to an order. He was held for a telephone bail hearing and remanded into custody by a justice of the peace. The 28-year-old female, also a Drayton Valley resident, was charged with theft, weapons offences and possession of methamphetamine. She was held for a telephone bail hearing and released by a justice of the peace for court later. Members located handgun and loaded magazine in the trunk of the car during a search.
9:27 p.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 620 – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop with a car while looking for the suspect vehicle from the previous file. Member determined that the car had no connection with the earlier ATV theft but found the driver was suspended. A summons was issued and the car was impounded. Members also arrested the driver as he had outstanding warrants from other jurisdictions; he was held for a telephone bail hearing and released by a justice of the peace with multiple court dates.
11:29 p.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported a party going on at the gravel pits on Range Road 71. Members patrolled and located what appeared to be the site of a now ended social gathering.
May 3
4:25 a.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reported seeing an intoxicated male in the ditch south of Highway 624. Members attended the area but did not locate any such person.
7:58 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Greenwood Trailer Park – Complainant reported seeing a father yelling at two young children and making them run sprints. Complainant felt it was extreme due to the apparent young age of the children. Member attended but did not locate the children or father, and no one was home at the potential residence involved.
4:18 p.m. – Brazeau County – near Hwy 22 bridge – Complainant reported finding a dog bowl and bed under a bridge, complainant concerned someone abandoned a dog. No dog was seen in the area. Member forwarded the information to county peace officers.
May 4
11:04 a.m. – Tomahawk – Complainant reported a domestic dispute with his spouse. Member attended and spoke to both parties and found there were insufficient grounds to charge either. Member advised them to separate for the day.
2:09 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant requested a well-being check on male due to him making some strange comments on the phone. Member has not yet located the male, but he is seen often and police are aware he makes such comments due to mental health issues.
3:37 p.m. – Drayton Valley – area of the dump – Complainant reported her nephew was being aggressive toward her due to a dispute over an engine. The nephew was then picked up by his mother, the complainants’ sister, to end the dispute. Complainant stated she only called to protect herself as she believed the others involved would complain about her. As predicted the call from the sister/nephew side was received about 20 minutes later.
3:44 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported that his ex had tried to contact him, in breach of her conditions from a prior offence. Members located and arrested the ex the following day; she was held for a telephone bail hearing and remanded by a justice of the peace. At her court appearance the following day, the charge was withdrawn.
4:55 p.m. – Brazeau County – A school bus driver reported witnessing an indecent act while passing a residence. A male at a residence had been seen outside with his pants down and his derriere facing the road. Member attended and spoke to the male who was very apologetic and explained that after a recent surgery he lost a lot of weight and has difficulty keeping his pants up.
9:58 p.m. – Parkland County – Member on patrol attempted to stop a truck. The truck fled but was located parked at a known residence in Tomahawk. The truck was towed from the residence and impounded.
10:29 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 52 St – Complainant reported a neighbour was yelling at her and her boyfriend, claiming they were being loud. Under investigation.
May 5
2:23 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Member conducted a traffic stop, which lead to a search of the vehicle under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA). Ammunition was located in the trunk of the car, which the passenger claimed ownership of. As the passenger was on conditions to not possess ammunition, he was arrested and released with a court date for failing to comply with his conditions.
10:33 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 46 Ave – Complainant reported someone stole bottles from beside his garage two days earlier.
11:51 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 49 St – Members were in the area looking for a wanted male and encountered an acquaintance swearing and causing a scene, apparently while under the influence of drugs. The male was arrested and held in cells until sober. Members were able to locate and arrest the wanted male.
12:11 p.m. – Poplar Ridge – Complainant reported a male approached him and asked him to call 911. Members attended and found that a female inside a residence was overdosing. Paramedics attended and transported the female to hospital.
2:47 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 51 St – Complainant reported finding two gas trimmers outside her fence and suspected they may be stolen. Member attended, trimmers did not appear to stolen and did not match any reported thefts. Complainant will hold onto the trimmers in case someone comes looking for them.
4:38 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 54 St – Complainant reported unwanted people sleeping in an alley by his business. Member attended and located two known people having a nap, they were told to leave the area, both complied.
May 6
8:49 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported receiving invoices purportedly from a company who did the roof on her house, which turned out to be scams. The invoices were paid and the money sent to two different emails, neither of which belong to the company involved. Under investigation.
12:00 p.m. – Brazeau County – Easyford area – Complainant reported staples left on his driveway and suspects someone who lives nearby is responsible. Unable to prove who may have left the staples.
12:11 p.m. – Brazeau County – Members on patrol noticed an Ontario plate on an older Dodge Dakota. A query of the plate showed it should be on a Toyota SUV. A traffic stop was conducted which led to the driver being arrested for driving while prohibited. The driver was released on an appearance notice and traffic tickets were issued for related offences including operating without insurance. The truck was impounded.
1:24 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported a disturbance at a neighbour’s residence. Members attended and determined a father and son were arguing, but neither were still at the location. Members were able to locate and speak to all parties and determined it had been a verbal argument only. While dealing with this file members arrested the son as he had several active warrants.
4:51 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported suspicious people in an alley. Member attended and located three people suspected of squatting in the area; all were told to move along.
May 7
1:56 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Jubilee Ave – Staff at a hotel reported a male in the restaurant section who was not a guest and refusing to leave. The male was not being violent, just not leaving. Members attended and took the male to the hospital as he reported some potential medical or mental health issues.
