Three Drayton Valley residents have been arrested and face multiple charges following a months-long drug trafficking investigation by RCMP.
The Drayton Valley RCMP General Investigation Section (GIS) began investigating possible drug trafficking from a residence in the community in March.
On May 5, the RCMP executed a search warrant at the residence and, as a result, allegedly seized multiple types of drugs, believed to be methamphetamine, fentanyl and a large amount of illegal cannabis, along with various illegal weapons and stolen property.
Police say 10 people were living at the residence, three of whom were arrested and charged.
A 31-year-old female was charged with:
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 (x3)
- Failure to comply with probation order
- Possession of cannabis in excess of 30 grams
A 35-year-old male was charged with:
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 (x3)
- Failure to comply with release order (x2)
- Fraud under $5,000
- Possession of cannabis in excess of 30 grams
And a 35-year-old male was charged with:
- Possession of a controlled substance
- Possession of a prohibited weapon
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Failure to comply with release order (x5)
The two 35-year-olds were brought before a justice of the peace and remanded into custody, while the 31-year-old was released on conditions. All are to appear before the Alberta Court of Justice in Drayton Valley on May 19.
