Parkland and Smoky Lake RCMP report a peacock and peahen that were in a vehicle stolen from Stony Plain have been located safe.
On April 26, two members of the public reportedly located the birds in their crate on Highway 16, near Duffield, and rescued them. The two cared for the birds until social media posts brought their theft to their attention. The Good Samaritans contacted the Smoky Lake RCMP, who aided in returning the birds to their owners.
The stolen Ford F-350 is yet to be found.

“A happy ending! Smoky Lake RCMP were delighted to assist in bringing Pete and Hilda back to their owner,” comments Sergeant Anita Doktor of the Smoky Lake RCMP.

Parkland RCMP is seeking public assistance in locating a stolen vehicle that contained two crated peacocks.
On April 26, police were notified that a white 2005 Ford F-350 crew cab truck was stolen from the 60 block of Boulder Boulevard in Stony Plain.
The vehicle bears a B.C. licence plate reading SY7-996 and features aluminum bed rails; a headache rack with a light bar topper; a chrome bumper; and additional amber lights on the grill.
Officers are concerned for the well-being of two peacocks crated inside the vehicle at the time of its theft.
