According to the audited 2025 Financial Statement, Brazeau County finished the year with a $3.5 million surplus, including all revenues and expenses.
Budget 2025 estimated $33.3 million in revenues, when actual revenues came in at $33.9 million. Expenses were estimated to reach $28.8 million but came in at $33.5 million.
The county notes, actual expense values include non-cash amortization expenses not included in budgeted figures, contributing to the increase.
The county also has $62.9 million in assets, $13.2 million in liabilities, $4.8 million of debt and a remaining debt capacity of $50.9 million.
By law, all municipalities must be audited each year. The auditor, Metrix Group LLP, found the county’s financial statements to fairly present its financial position as of Dec. 31, 2025.
County council received the reports during its regularly scheduled meeting on April 21.
