A baby has tragically died in a house fire in Brazeau County, and one child is unaccounted for.
On April 16, at about 12:30 p.m., Breton RCMP received a report of a residential house fire on Township Road 42 in Brazeau County.
Upon arrival, police learned that an adult female and two children were able to successfully evacuate the home.
However, two children — one infant and one toddler — were still in the home.
Fire crews fought the blaze, however, rescue attempts were not possible.
After the fire had been extinguished, and during an initial search of the building, the baby was located deceased.
Emergency crews remain on scene searching for the toddler.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Alberta RCMP shares its condolences to the family.
Note: RCMP are not disclosing a specific location of the home, nor the ages of the children.
