Parkland RCMP has arrested a Spruce Grove resident allegedly connected to two armed robbery investigations.
On Dec. 30, 2025, Parkland RCMP responded to an armed robbery at a gas station. Police allege that a masked suspect entered the store, sprayed the employee with bear spray, then demanded money. Once the cash was received, the suspect sprayed the employee a second time and fled on foot.
On April 8 at about 10:30 p.m., the detachment responded to another armed robbery at the same location. Again, police report that a masked individual brandished a weapon in the store and threatened to bear-spray the employee while demanding money. The suspect fled on foot after the cash was received.
The Parkland General Investigation Section connected the two incidents by the suspect involved, and also found that their transportation to and from the second incident was aided by an accomplice.
As a result of the investigation, two suspects were arrested, and a search warrant was executed on a residence and a vehicle in Spruce Grove on April 10.
A 52-year-old Spruce Grove resident was charged with:
- Robbery with a weapon x2
- Assault with a weapon x2
- Commit an indictable offence while masked x2
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose x2
They were remanded in custody with their next court appearance scheduled for April 15 at the Alberta Court of Justice in St. Albert.
A 48-year-old Spruce Grove resident was charged with robbery with a weapon. They were taken before a justice of the peace and released from custody with conditions. Their next court appearance is set for April 29 at the Alberta Court of Justice in St. Albert.
“These armed robberies were violent acts, resulting in weapons being used on employees of this business,” stated Sergeant Collin Kuca, commander of the Parkland RCMP Plain Clothes Unit. “These investigations can be complex and lengthy, but I trust that identifying and charging these suspects helps to ensure public safety.”
