Brazeau County landowners, municipalities, natural resource managers and more are invited to a free beaver workshop on Feb. 24.
The workshop is designed to be valuable whether you want to understand them, think you need them, or want to learn how to live with them.
A discussion will be led by Cows and Fish, with topics including:
- Beaver basics: Ecology, natural history, role of the beaver in watersheds
- Beaver challenges: Issues, management, options and alternatives
- Beaver case studies: How others are dealing and living with beavers
- Beaver banter: Roundtable discussion on beaver messages and messaging, management issues, management options and information needs
- Beaver next steps: Awareness messages, tool development, reintroductions and future management
Presentations will run from 6:30-8:30 at the Brazeau County Office (7401 Township Road 494) on Feb. 24, with a Q-and-A after.
The event is presented by Cows and Fish, ALUS Brazeau and Working with Beavers.
