Parkland County RCMP have arrested a 47-year-old resident following a stolen property investigation.
On Jan. 8, the Alberta RCMP Community Response Team (CRT) was made aware of an alleged stolen Chevrolet truck being followed by a civilian in the Parkland County area.
Once police located the vehicle, they successfully deployed a tire deflation device, causing the truck to come to a stop on a rural property near Alberta Beach.
Police say the suspect, a 47-year-old male resident of Parkland County, was quickly taken into custody. He was charged with:
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
- Operate a motor vehicle while unauthorized
- Failure to comply with a release order (x4)
- Resist arrest
The individual was held for a bail hearing and remanded into custody. He is to appear in the Alberta Court of Justice in St. Albert on Jan. 28 at 9:30 a.m.
The operation was carried out with assistance from the Real Time Operations Centre, Parkland RCMP and the Parkland RCMP Crime Reduction Unit.
