December 25
8:45 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Members attended a residence to assist paramedics who were called for a deceased male. Paramedics had confirmed the death, the Medical Examiner was consulted and the deceased was transported to a funeral home. The death appeared to be of natural causes.
7:37 p.m. – Brazeau County – Request received from another RCMP detachment to notify next of kin of a deceased male. Family located and notified.
December 26
2:53 a.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported that their son was causing a disturbance in their residence. Members attended and located the extremely intoxicated son suffering from some injuries that occurred while trying to fight his father. Members arrested the male for breaching his probation conditions and released him with a court date while he was receiving treatment at the hospital.
11:37 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St/50 Ave – Complainant reported a known female causing a disturbance and being belligerent to staff in a convenience store. Members attended and convinced the female to leave and offered her a ride to a different location. The female responded by screaming and throwing her belongings all over the parking lot; as a result, she spent the night in cells, possibly sobering up from intoxication by drugs.
December 27
1:08 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 52 Ave – Staff at the bar reported two males were told to leave but were refusing to do so. Members attended, and though both males were very argumentative, they both eventually left
9:09 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 47 Ave – Complainant reported that someone tried to steal his truck overnight. The suspect was able to enter the truck and damage the door lock and ignition, but was only able to get the truck onto the street. A suspect was captured on video surveillance, but no identity could be confirmed.
9:56 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported that he had a physical altercation with his adult son, who then left in his truck. Complainant did not want charges, only wanted the truck back. Members located the truck, and an agreement was reached that the son would return the truck in the morning.
December 28
4:52 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported that three males were trying to break into his hotel room. Members attended but found no one in the area and no evidence of such an event. Staff reported no other guests had been in that hallway.
8:30 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St/50 Ave – Complainant reported two females entered a convenience store and went to the bathroom after being told not to as they appeared to be under the influence of drugs. Member attended but both had left.
9:50 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported that a family member is having friends blow into an ignition interlock device to facilitate further impaired driving. All members advised to watch for the vehicle during patrols.
10:40 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Members attended to assist paramedics with an elderly female who had passed away in an assisted living residence. Member consulted with the Medical Examiner and the deceased female was taken to a funeral home. Death appeared to be a result of natural causes.
December 29
2:00 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported having some child custody concerns and wanting guidance on how to proceed. Member spoke to the complainant and provided some advice; nothing criminal at this time.
2:18 p.m. – Brazeau County – Berrymoor area – Complainant reported wire theft and damage to a power transformer at a lease site. Under investigation.
5:08 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Hospital – Staff reported a female refusing to leave. Due to behaviour and other recent police involvement, the female was apprehended under the Mental Health Act and transported to Ponoka Centennial Center for treatment.
5:53 p.m. – Drayton Valley – File opened to investigate possible physical child abuse of a youth by their parent.
December 30
12:02 a.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported that a female who he went on a couple dates with was sending him explicit photos. Member spoke to the female and told her to stop messaging the complainant.
1:33 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported a fraud and an attempted fraud involving two local organizations. Under investigation.
2:55 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 56 Ave – Complainant reported that he was assaulted by a known female and threatened by her brother due to a disagreement over rumours the female is spreading around town. Under investigation.
3:27 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave – Complainant reported that a male is coming to take back his old dog. Member spoke to the dog’s original human who had no idea why the complainant thinks this as he has no interest in getting the dog back from the complainant’s neighbour, who he gave it to. This complaint was all bark and no bite.
4:04 p.m. – Brazeau County – RR 80 – Complainant reported that his sister was at their grandmothers’ residence even though she had been kicked out a few days earlier and told not to return. After speaking to family, the sister was told to leave and not return and to arrange pickup of property through an acceptable third party.
4:07 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Case worker attended the detachment with a male turning himself in due to breaching probation conditions. The male was held for a telephone bail hearing and remanded in custody by a Justice of the Peace.
6:50 p.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported his daughter was experiencing mental health issues. Members attended the residence and apprehended the daughter who was transported to a designated mental health facility for treatment.
December 31
9:26 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported harassment. Member determined there was no harassment going on but will speak to the other party and request they stop all contact.
1:25 p.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant requested assistance in retrieving ID and hair extensions from her mother’s residence as she was concerned there would be conflict. Member spoke to both parties and made suitable arrangements. Members were not required to supervise the pickup of hair extensions.
4:41 p.m. – Brazeau County – Request to assist another police agency in locating an elderly male reported missing. Member located the male later in the day, he had come to the area to celebrate New Years with friends..
January 1, 2026
12:49 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Hwy 620 – Complainant reported a male in an SUV had driven off the road, just south of Hwy 22. Complainant had stopped and spoken to the driver and believed he was very impaired. Members attended and suspected the same, but the male refused to comply with a demand for a sample of his breath. As a result, the male was issued an impaired driving suspension and his car, once towed from the snow, was impounded. Due to the level of intoxication and aggressive behaviour, the male was lodged in cells overnight to sober up.
1:13 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 52 Ave – Staff reported a rock thrown at an outside window and patrons becoming unruly due to the bar being at capacity with people waiting outside. Members attended and found the situation had calmed somewhat. One female patron was provided a ride to her residence as staff suspected she was causing issues.
2:10 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported a disturbance in a neighbour’s apartment and suspected a domestic dispute. Members attended and the occupants denied there had been any disharmony, though the male was on conditions to not be in contact with the female. The male was arrested and held for a telephone bail hearing on a charge of failing to comply with a release order; he was released by a Justice of the Peace with conditions and a court date.
2:59 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Greenwood Trailer Park – Members responded to a 911 call and located several people in the street. One male was arrested as he had assaulted his roommate over an apparent misunderstanding. The roommate did not want charges, so the suspect was held overnight until sober.
