A special weather statement has been issued for Brazeau County, near Drayton Valley and Breton, and Parkland County.
Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) says a Christmas Eve snowfall is expected across central Alberta, with 10 to 20 cm forecast beginning late Wednesday morning.
The snow is expected to taper off by Christmas morning on Thursday.
ECCC officials say travellers should be prepared for winter driving conditions and consider adjusting their travel plans.
