October 30
10:29 a.m. – Parkland County – Hwy 759 – Complainant reported a suspicious black Dodge minivan had been parked in the area for at least an hour. The van left when the driver was confronted. Member attended the area and conducted patrols, but did not locate the van. Note: this is not the same vehicle that was reported several times a week or two earlier.
11:10 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Team Auctions Centre – Complainant reported a male appearing to have mental health issues in the parking lot. Member located the male and arrested him for being under the influence of an illicit substance. The male was held in cells and released when sober.
2:52 p.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported she is receiving unwanted contact from a female. Under investigation.
5:45 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported a verbal domestic with her ex during a custody exchange. Member investigated and determined no offence occurred, though perhaps some bad behaviour. Member spoke to the ex and told him that the complainant did not want further contact.
October 31
6:05 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 63 St – Complainant reported a female had been in the bathroom at a card lock for hours. Member attended and identified the female and issued a trespass notice. The vehicle she arrived in was also towed, as it had no insurance or registration, and the female has no licence.
8:44 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant turned in a small quantity of illicit drugs and paraphernalia left behind at a business after a male was taken to hospital due to an overdose.
10:28 a.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported cable stolen from a lease site.
11:11 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported receiving phone calls from an app telling him to pay $5,000 in gift cards or be arrested. The complainant did not pay. Under investigation.
2:53 p.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported a break and enter to a remote lease site.
9:07 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Power Ctr Blvd – Complainant reported a male on a bicycle checking door handles. Members patrolled the area and located a male who was detained for investigation. No evidence was located to confirm he had entered any vehicles, and he had receipts for items in his possession. The male was warned about his behaviour.
November 1
12:03 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 45 Ave – Complainant reported a male passed out on someone’s front lawn. Members attended and located a male who was intoxicated but had also suffered a seizure. Paramedics arrived and transported the male to hospital.
12:15 a.m. – until 3:05 am – Drayton Valley – 52 Ave – Members were either dispatched to the bar or dealt with issues while already there; Friday night Halloween Party resulted in a large turnout of patrons. Two males were lodged in cells to sober up, one male was charged with assaulting patrons and the responding officer. Several tickets were also issued and by 3 a.m., most costume-attired patrons had headed home.
1:56 p.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported two males on his property, possibly hunters who accessed via an open gate. Member attended and located two males who were hunting, and believed they were on Crown land. The two males left when requested to do so.
11:35 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Staff at the bar reported an intoxicated, belligerent male refusing to leave. Member attended and the male left when told to.
November 2
9:00 a.m. – Brazeau County – RR 85 – Complainant reported that his 2016 Wilderness travel trailer was stolen from his yard overnight. Under investigation.
10:57 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported what appeared to be a bullet hole in his garage window, occurred sometime overnight. Member attended, unable to locate any shell casings or rounds inside the garage, no other evidence located.
4:31 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave – Complainant reported a business appeared to have been broken into. Members attended, break and enter confirmed; property representative attended; surveillance video showed the incident occurred about 12 hours earlier. Under investigation.
6:52 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported a business insecure, back door had been open all day. Members attended, premise checked but no one located and no obvious signs of theft or damage. Member unable to contact the property representative at the time.
8:47 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported when he went to deliver about $100 worth of food ordered via an online menu, everyone at the residence claimed to have not ordered the food. A potential suspect was identified but the complainant did not wish to proceed.
9:10 p.m. – Brazeau County – Birchwood – Complainant reported his adult daughter was intoxicated and had hit him. Members attended and arrested the female who was held in cells overnight to sober up.
November 3
8:01 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 53 St – Complainant reported her SUV broken into overnight, but nothing had been stolen.
8:05 a.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported that while out hunting two days earlier he located what appeared to be a stripped truck tucked into the woods. Member attempted to locate the truck based on the complainant’s directions but was not successful.
1:51 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Two files opened to assist probation by adding warrants for two males who failed to comply with probation conditions.
2:03 p.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported that his cousin sent a threatening message to his wife. Member viewed the message and found it was not a threat, though certainly weird. Member to warn the suspect when located.
2:22 p.m. – Brazeau County – Cynthia area – Complainant reported wire stolen from a remote lease site.
2:49 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported her son missing, hasn’t been heard from in six months. Members have confirmed the male was seen at a hospital in Edmonton within the past three weeks. Investigation ongoing.
3:51 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported about $8,000 fraudulently taken from two bank accounts. Under investigation.
3:56 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported he had been assaulted by his girlfriend who had also damaged his truck. Member attended the location but found both had already left the hotel where they had been staying. Under investigation.
9:06 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Team Auctions Centre – Complainant reported that his vehicle was spray-painted while in the parking lot. Under investigation.
November 4
12:09 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave – Member checked on a female walking into traffic and attempting to flag down passing cars. The known female stated she was trying to get to a friend’s residence. Member gave her a ride to the shelter pods and arranged for a room for the night.
12:37 a.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 N – Complainant reported a suspicious van parked on the shoulder and stated that he honked when passing and saw a foot appear through curtains. Complainant felt it was suspicious. Member attended and found a male sleeping in the van. Male was travelling back to B.C. and needed a fatigue break. The occupant was sober and not found to be suspicious.
2:51 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported he had been released from the Ponoka Centennial Center earlier and was unable to sleep. Member attended and requested paramedics, who transported the male to hospital.
3:52 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported that his garage doors had been spray painted with profanities. Under investigation.
8:32 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 49 St – Complainant reported someone set off an explosive device in his driveway. Members attended and retrieved the items left behind, which appeared to have been a Molotov cocktail. Members suspect an acquaintance of the complainant. Under investigation.
9:26 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50A St – Complainant reported his vehicle broken into overnight and a drill stolen.
9:39 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported two males stealing meat from a store. Member attended and identified the two males who were removed from the store and issued trespass notices.
10:29 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported ordering some items online. The items were delivered to the correct address, but in Calgary. Complainant needed a file number to start a claim with the company involved. Police are not surprised that this mistake happened and are considering now referring to Drayton Valley as “little Calgary.”
10:59 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 58 St – Complainant reported tools stolen from a vehicle overnight. Under investigation.
11:05 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported someone had spraypainted on his business sign.
4:19 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported a male was in a store and had previously been issued a trespass notice.
4:27 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 43 St – Report of an altercation between two female youth. Under investigation.
4:34 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Power Ctr Blvd – Complainant reported that two suspects in two different trucks had been in the parking lot, and one male had tried to steal her truck. Member located the two suspect trucks, but both fled police at high speed. One male was arrested in another community the following day when he abandoned the first stolen truck and made an error in judgement by choosing a bait truck to steal as a replacement. A male was arrested in the bait truck and charged by the responding detachment.
4:35 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Industrial Rd – Complainant reported a male and female yelling at each other across a parking lot. Member attended; the female had left the area (possibly because she has warrants) and the male explained that the female had taken the truck while he was in court and without his permission. He now had the truck back after flagging her down.
November 5
9:24 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave – Complainant reported a homeless male in front of an apartment building who has been removed multiple times. Member attended but the male had left.
10:49 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave – Complainant from the earlier file reported the same homeless male had returned. Member attended and arrested the male who was charged with failing to comply with an undertaking. The male was held for a telephone bail hearing and released by a justice of the peace.
2:58 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 56 Ave – Complainant reported that a female who is the ex-girlfriend of an acquaintance, had called and told him she was coming to deal with him. Member suggested that the complainant block the female on his phone. The female was contacted and told to stop any contact; she said she had heard he was saying bad things about her.
5:26 p.m. – Parkland County – Tomahawk area – Complainant reported that he was scouting deer off Twp Rd 510 and was approached by a male who threatened him with an axe handle after a verbal altercation. The suspect was apparently suspicious as to why the complainant was there. Under investigation.
November 6
6:48 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported a male tried to steal a Jeep from a business yard overnight. The male is captured on video trying to drive through a gate, but he gets caught up somehow on the gate and gives up. Under investigation.
