The Pembina Crisis Connection Society (PCCS), located in Drayton Valley, is one of 18 organizations set to receive grant support from the Government of Alberta.
The government recently invested $1.36 million in funding to community-based organizations as part of its 10-year strategy to end gender-based violence.
The Community Pathways to Justice Grant supports programs focusing on victim support, education and awareness, legal navigation, system coordination and restorative justice.
The PCCS is receiving $100,000 to fund its more interim supports and generally fill service gaps. Trisha Howes, PCCS program director, says this could include transportation and temporary living arrangements for clients transitioning into a shelter, for example.
The government says grant values range from $37,000 to $145,000 and must be used for operational activities.
