August 28
10:32 a.m. – Brazeau County – Lodgepole area – Complainant reported a trailer on a lease site had been entered and a pair of coveralls were missing. Oddly, the thief left a written apology stating he was stranded and walking and the bugs were killing him.
3:30 p.m. – Poplar Ridge – Complainant reported being assaulted by a neighbour. Under investigation.
August 29
1:50 a.m. – Cynthia – Complainant reported a white car with a business name on the door had been driving erratically around the hamlet. Patrols were made but the car wasn’t located. Follow up with the company found that a vehicle had been in the area conducting patrols for potential gas leaks.
2:48 a.m. – Rocky Rapids – Complainant reported hearing a female scream for help. Members patrolled extensively but did not locate the source.
8:15 a.m. – Rocky Rapids – Complainant reported a neighbour screaming next door to his residence. Members attended and apprehended a female under the Mental Health Act; she was subsequently transported to a designated facility for treatment. Members believe this was related to the previous complaint.
8:30 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 54 St – Complainant reported finding bags of fresh cannabis while cleaning at the shelter pods. Member attended and seized the cannabis which will be destroyed.
3:32 p.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 621 – Members located and arrested a male for breaching conditions of his release order several days earlier. The male was held for a telephone bail hearing and remanded in custody by a justice of the peace.
August 30
12:50 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 52 Ave – Staff at the bar reported a disruptive male; the male had been kicked out but was trying to re-enter and being confrontational with staff and patrons. Members attended and located the male who had apparently been in an altercation but had not come out on top. Paramedics provided him some treatment for minor wounds, after which he was issued a ticket under the Liquor Act and left to walk home.
2:56 a.m. – Brazeau County – Member on patrol stopped a pickup truck; the driver reported a rifle was in the rear seat. Member detained the male and seized a rifle and loaded magazine, along with a baton. The baton was seized for destruction and the firearm was taken for safekeeping. No charges were laid and the firearm was returned to the owner the following day when proper safety precautions and regulations were satisfied.
1:54 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Jubilee Ave – Complainant reported that a couple came into a restaurant and were drinking, they then argued and the male left. The female was now sleeping at a table and needed to be removed. Members attended and arrested the female who was held in cells to sober up.
9:43 p.m. – Brazeau County – RR 80 – Complainant reported suspicious activity at a neighbour’s residence. Member attended when able, but the specific activity was no longer ongoing. Members are aware of the residence and routinely patrol in the area.
August 31
7:02 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported a possible fraud involving repairs to her computer at a local business. File open, but not likely a criminal matter.
5:27 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Hospital – Complainant called from the hospital to report that his brother stole his cell phone while visiting. Under investigation, both parties known to police.
September 1
9:07 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave – Complainant requested police attend and evict some long-term motel tenants for lack of payment. As the complainant has been told previously, he was again told that he would need to evict the people using the authority of the Residential Tenancies Act.
9:54 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 49 St – Complainant reported her car damaged, occurred sometime overnight.
1:14 p.m. – Brazeau County – Anonymous complainant reported a male was using meth and driving his truck into Drayton Valley. Member conducted patrols for the known male, but he was not located.
6:34 p.m. – Brazeau County – Assistance was requested from two males who reported they got lost and ran out of gas while on their dirt-bikes and were unable to get back to their trucks. Members located the pair and gave them a lift back to their trucks so they could return to the city.
6:45 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 52 St – Members located a male on a park bench crying. Members determined the male was under the influence of a drug and initially lodged him in cells to safely sober up. Paramedics were called to assess the male who was then transported to hospital due to a concern he may overdose.
September 2
3:30 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave – Complainant reported a younger male hanging around a gas station, possibly trying to get into vehicles with adults. The youth then entered a truck and left. Members located the truck at a residence and found the youth hiding in the truck. His explanation was that he just wanted to ride around with people and that nothing happened. Member took the youth home to his mother.
9:30 a.m. – Parkland County – Hwy 759 – Complainant reported that someone had shot her window with an airsoft gun, damaging a storm window. Incident had occurred sometime in the past few weeks.
12:07 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported a resident of a group home stole two rolls of loonies from another resident. Complainant requested a member speak to the male about his actions. Under investigation.
3:12 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported a dog in a hot truck in a parking lot; dog appeared in distress. While on the phone reporting, the complainant advised the owner had returned. Member was unable to locate the truck involved.
3:22 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported a female entered a hotel and stole the debit machine from behind the front desk. Member viewed video surveillance and was able to identify the female. Member located and arrested the female and was able to return the debit machine. Charges are pending and the suspect was advised that no money is actually held in the handheld devices.
3:44 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported a possible assault of her child by a babysitter that occurred about a month prior. Under investigation.
3:55 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported that she found a revolver in her deceased husband’s belongings and requested police pick it up. Member attended and retrieved the revolver which will be destroyed as per the complainant’s request.
4:21 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported a male shoplifted a bottle of spiced rum. Member attended and was easily able to identify a suspect from video surveillance. Charges are pending against the male when located.
5:44 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported concerns about the driving abilities of an elderly relative. Member submitted a driver fitness review request to Alberta Transportation.
6:28 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported that her son had fought with another student after they agreed to meet up for a fight. Complainant reported that the other student had been challenging others to fight and may have uttered threats. Under investigation.
September 3
3:07 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Power Ctr Blvd – Complainant reported shoplifting that occurred the day before; total value about $1,900. Under investigation.
4:21 p.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported an acquaintance stole his truck. Under investigation.
4:42 p.m. – Brazeau County – RR 80 – Complainant reported an acquaintance was banging on her door, unknown why but they have had conflict in the past. Members attended and determined there was no conflict, the male was just upset as his truck had just been taken (see previous file).
6:31 p.m. – Brazeau County – RR 80 – Complainant reported a possible sighting of her friend’s stolen truck (see 4:21 p.m.), truck last seen heading down RR 80. Member patrolled the area but did not locate the truck.
10:22 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave – Complainant reported that a white GMC pickup did a burnout in front of his residence and called him by name, though he didn’t know the occupants. Complainant suspected they were impaired. Member patrolled the area but did not locate a matching truck.
