The Town of Drayton Valley is conducting maintenance in a few different parts of town today, Aug. 25, and is asking residents to avoid the areas as a result.
Crews will be applying a protective coating to the skate park in Discovery Park, which officials say helps reduce the cost of removing graffiti while preserving the concrete.
Additionally, the town will be doing weed control. The grass around Lions Park, including the rugby pitch, pump track and diamond one, will be sprayed today.
The town asks residents to avoid these areas of Lions Park, as well as the Discovery Park skate park, for 24 hours to allow the treatments to do their job.
