Drayton Valley/Brazeau County Fire Services report that the fire advisory in place for the areas has been reduced to no fire ban.
Due to current weather conditions and recent rainfall, the change went into effect at 8 a.m. on July 17.
With no ban in place, officials say outdoor burning is permitted, but only with a fire permit or in an approved fire pit or burning appliance.
The following examples are permitted:
- Outdoor burning, with an approved fire permit
- Internal household fireplaces
- Incinerators (for farm and acreage use)
- Burn barrels (no larger than 45 gallons, for agriculture lands)
- Solid fuel barbecues
- Bylaw compliant backyard and camping fires
- Fires contained within approved facilities and appliances in designed camping and recreational areas
- Portable propane fire pits and appliances
