July 4
7:04 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Police received a report of a stolen Black 2007 GMC Sierra 2500 from a hotel parking lot. Investigation is continuing.
9:12 a.m. – Brazeau County – Township 502 – Police were called to a possible theft of puppies. Complainant advised that 3 puppies out of the litter of 9 are missing. Complainant can not see a spot they escaped from the kennel. Members investigating.
10:37 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Hwy 22 – Police responded to a complaint of a domestic assault. Female reported she was slapped by her boyfriend after an argument. Boyfriend no longer present, will be arrested and charged when located.
10:47 p.m. – Brazeau County – Twp Rd 480 – Police called to a suspicious vehicle that appeared to be scouting properties in their area. It was reported the vehicle fled when they noted the complainant taking photos of it. Members patrolled the area but did not locate it.
July 5
4:35 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Police received a call of a possible impaired driver. Members located the vehicle. Driver was not impaired but cautioned on his driving behavior.
5:32 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Police received a call of shop lifting from a local store. Shop lifter is known to the store and members. Members to locate the shop lifter.
July 6
11:13 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 47 Ave – Complainant reported a tent in the area behind the empty former school property on 50 Street. Member attended and told the male occupant to remove his tent to an approved location.
July 7
8:21 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported losing his wallet, reported in case the wallet is recovered.
9:28 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 58 St – Complainant reported that on the evening of July 5 two boxes of product were dropped off at a business after hours and subsequently stolen. Boxes contained ball valves. Under investigation.
9:36 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 49 Ave – Complainant reported receiving vague threats via text from an ex-employee. Member contacted the suspect and told him to stop communication.
9:36 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Industrial Rd – Complainant reported a U-Haul had been rented and not returned on July 1 as per the rental contract. Member determined that the truck had already been located by Leduc RCMP members who were dispatched to investigate suspicious persons in Calmar.
11:00 a.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 620 – Complainant reported that a co-worker of her husband tried to cause him injury while at work. Under investigation.
11:15 a.m. – Parkland County – Hwy 759 – Complainant reported his SUV stolen after he left it at a location to be serviced. Keys had been left in the gas door. Under investigation.
9:11 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 49 Ave – Complainant reported that her daughter’s garage had been broken into and various items stolen; occurred sometime in the past 10 days. Under investigation.
July 8
11:46 a.m. – Parkland County – Hwy 22/Twp Rd 512 – Complainant reported a reckless driver in a red Dodge sedan hit the ditch and then took off westbound. Member patrolled the area to the west but did not locate the car.
1:06 p.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported concerns about the well-being of two family members due to alcohol use and life choices. Complainant concerned that impaired driving would be happening given past behaviours. Under investigation.
1:35 p.m. – Drayton Valley – area of the dump – Members responded to a report that a male had been assaulted with a golf club. The male had been transported to hospital and received stitches. A male and female, both known to police, will be arrested and charged when located.
2:23 p.m. – Brazeau County – Rocky Rapids area – Complainant reported suspects ripped a transformer off and stole copper wire from a rural site. Under investigation.
3:16 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported a female who is known to not have a driver’s license has been seen operating a black car. Under investigation, partial license plate provided.
8:44 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 52 St – Complainant reported he had broken up a fight between two males in an apartment parking lot. One male was injured, while the other had left the scene. The potential victim did not want to provide a statement, but the second male will be charged when located for breaching multiple probation orders.
8:54 p.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported that he was camping with a female friend and received threats from another male who was mad the two were together. Member investigated and found the original complainant unwilling to provide a statement on what occurred, but the female provided text messages that included death threats and also reported being sexually assaulted by the suspect in late June. A 35-year-old male was located, arrested, and held for a telephone bail hearing. The male was subsequently released by a justice of the peace with conditions and a future court date.
10:11 p.m. – Drayton Valley – area of the dump – Complainant reported that a neighbour had shot an arrow in the direction of her sister. Members attended and found that the male was target shooting while intoxicated, causing a safety concern. The male’s bow was seized for the night, and he was told he could pick it up when sober.
July 9
11:08 a.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported being wrongfully terminated by his employer who had been fraudulently changing work records. Under investigation.
12:23 p.m. – Poplar Ridge area – Complainant reported the theft of a fence security device.
12:35 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Member dispatched to a report of two missing female youths. Members located both later in the day and returned them to their parents.
1:03 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Pool – Complainant reported an unwanted male being belligerent with staff when asked to leave. The male is not welcome at the pool due to past behaviour. Member attended but the male had left. Under investigation to identify the male and advise him he is not welcome at the facility.
3:36 p.m. – Brazeau County – Birchwood – Complainant reported his white 2020 Ram pickup stolen about a week earlier. Complainant hadn’t reported the theft as he thought the truck had been borrowed by his uncle but later found out it had not been. Under investigation.
3:59 p.m. – Tomahawk – Member attended a residence on an unrelated matter and located a U-Haul allegedly being used as sleeping quarters. Contact with U-Haul confirmed that the truck was to have been returned on May 11 but had not been reported stolen or missing. Member seized the truck and was assisted by Parkland County with some K9 issues prior to the truck being towed. The “resident” of the truck was displeased with the sudden eviction.
10:18 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Skatepark – Complainant reported that about 10 youth were smoking cannabis in the area. Member unable to attend due to priority matters but will ensure patrols are made.
10:55 p.m. – Parkland County – Complainant reported being assaulted by her spouse. Members attended and arrested the male, who was held for a telephone bail hearing and remanded in custody by a justice of the peace.
