The Drayton Valley Thunder organization has promoted Josh Pufahl to assistant general manager, in addition to his existing role as assistant coach for the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) team.
The team also announced on July 15 that it’s come to a two year contract extension agreement with Pufahl, with a mutual third year option. The organization says this aligns his agreement with that of General Manager and Head Coach Jeff Truitt.
“I’m incredibly excited to continue working alongside someone as experienced as Jeff,” said Pufahl. “Jeff and I have a clear, aligned vision for the future, and I can’t wait to start the season and see what we can do this year. Being full time now also allows me to become part of the community, which I am really looking forward to.”
Truitt said Pufahl is hard working, has a keen eye for talent and connects well with the players, making him a crucial part of the team.
According to the Thunder organization, Pufahl will continue to contribute his hockey knowledge, organizational skills and leadership both behind the bench and in the front office.
