New jury trial dates have been scheduled for a man charged in a County of Wetaskiwin homicide two-and-a-half years ago.
Corey James Anderson, 46, of Wetaskiwin County, has been scheduled for jury trial from March 30-April 17, 2026, in Wetaskiwin Court of King’s Bench.
He was previously scheduled for jury trial in Wetaskiwin from June 9-20, 2025.
It was on Nov. 25, 2022, when Breton RCMP responded to a report of a sudden death at a rural location in Wetaskiwin County. As the investigation developed, officers from the Central Alberta District GIS Unit and the Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit were deployed and took over the investigation.
Mounties say the deceased was identified as a 44-year-old Wetaskiwin County resident.
As a result of the investigation, on Dec. 16, 2022, the suspect was arrested and charged with first-degree murder.
