Drayton Valley is tackling dandelion control this week in Aspenview Park, impacting usage of the area.
Tomorrow, June 10, the town will be spraying a herbicide in an effort to cut down on the weeds there and residents are asked to stay off the grass until June 11 to let the treatment work.
The town notes the herbicide used targets weeds specifically, not insects, and has little to no impact on bees.
For those concerned about animal safety, town officials say that as long as the treated area is avoided after spraying as requested, there is no health risk to people or their animals.
