April 11
12:28 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 55 Ave – Members responded to multiple complaints about a vehicle being driven erratically. The vehicle was located and paramedics were called as the driver was having a diabetic episode. Members had to gain entry by breaking the passenger window so paramedics could assess the driver.
2:33 p.m. – Parkland County – Hwy 624 – Complainant reported that a gravel truck lost two wheels, one hitting the complainant’s truck. Complainant stopped to exchange information and speak to a witness, but the gravel truck drove off and no information was obtained.
3:41 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 52 Ave – Complainant reported a male who consumed multiple beers had been seen driving off in a white pickup. Members were able to locate the truck travelling north on Hwy 22 and conducted a traffic stop. The driver provided two samples of his breath, both were “caution” results. The driver was issued a three-day suspension and his truck was impounded as per provincial impaired driving legislation.
4:32 p.m. – Parkland County – RR 51 – Complainant reported that sometime over the past week a trailer and his 2005 Suzuki ATV were stolen from a family property near Tomahawk. Under investigation.
8:18 p.m. – Parkland County – RR 51 – Complainant reported a suspicious white truck trespassing on his land, hiding in a wooded area. Members attended and setup containment. A search of the property from the air failed to locate the vehicle.
11:42 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 53 Ave – Complainant reported someone was trying to steal a truck in the lot behind her apartment building. Members located the truck and found nothing to indicate an attempted theft. Members spoke to the owner who stated she had been trying to start it but it was not cooperating.
April 12
12:44 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 48 St – Members attended a residence for a report of an assailant bear spraying two residents. Members determined it started as a dispute over unpaid rent, progressed to a physical altercation which then lead to the suspect returning with bear spray. Two victims were treated by paramedics and charges are pending against a 44-year-old male.
12:59 a.m. – Parkland County – RR 62 – Parkland Fire requested assistance with a fire at a pig barn. Members unable to attend at the time, fire will advise if there are any indications of criminal activity.
2:47 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported a female acting suspiciously and possibly shoplifting. Members attended and arrested the female for several offences and conducted a search incidental to arrest, at which time suspected methamphetamine was located. Charges are pending, and the female was issued a Trespass Notice.
3:07 p.m. – Brazeau County – RR 70 – Complainant reported his garage broken into, sometime over the past weeks. Several items missing. Under investigation.
3:57 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported that he received second hand information that a co-worker had made threats directed at him. Complainant only wanted to report the incident and advised that management was looking into the incident.
3:59 p.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported investing approximately $150,000 in Bitcoin accounts over the past months, which she now believes is fraudulent. Under investigation.
7:17 p.m. – Brazeau County – RR 71 – Complainant reported someone drilled a hole in his gas tank and took off, occurred around 12:30 a.m. on April 11. The complainant suspects his brother but has no evidence to support this.
9:13 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported two males in the ATM vestibule of a bank, preventing others from using the area as they were blocking the entrance. Member attended and located two males in the vicinity who matched the descriptions provided. Both claimed it wasn’t them but a warning was issued regardless. The two males located were not known to police.
April 13
3:52 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 51 St – Complainant reported a male shoplifter stole a bearded dragon. Member investigated and identified the male from surveillance video. The male was located and charged with theft and given a future court date. The bearded dragon was seized and returned to the store.
4:10 p.m. – Parkland County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reported a blue Ram pickup driving erratically, on Hwy 22 north of Hwy 624. Members from both Drayton Valley and Evansburg patrolled, but the truck was not located. Plate provided did not match the described vehicle.
April 14
2:52 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Members responded to a panic alarm at a convenience store. On arrival staff explained that a group came in and two people made legitimate purchases while a third refused to pay and walked out with paying for a couple bags of chips. Under investigation as there is surveillance, and to advise store staff that this was an inappropriate use of a panic alarm.
3:21 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 58 Ave – Complainant reported people trespassing at the old HW Pickup School. Members attended and cleared the buildings but no one was found.
3:04 p.m. – Brazeau County – RR 74A – Complainant reported seeing a male walking near the county baseball diamonds who appeared to be carrying a hunting rifle. Members attended and searched the area but did not locate the male.
April 15
11:25 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 58 Ave – Complainant reported a suspicious vehicle in a field and smoke in the trees. Member attended and located a vehicle; the occupants were both known to police, they were loading garbage up for proper disposal.
April 16
3:23 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Members located and arrested a female on an unrelated prior file, and while searching the female a debit card and gift card were located and suspected to have been fraudulently obtained or used. Under investigation.
11:30 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Information file opened to document an upcoming event that may garner attention.
3:52 p.m. – Brazeau County – Lodgepole area – Complainant reported unknown suspects stole copper wire from a lease site.
8:23 p.m. – Brazeau County – File opened to investigate a historical sexual assault reported while members were investigating a domestic breach of conditions.
11:12 p.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 620 – Complainant reported a minivan parked on the shoulder near Elk River Rd. The van had its hazard lights on but was very hard to see. Members patrolled the area but the van was no longer there, it had van-ished.
April 17
12:50 a.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 620 – Member on patrol observed a vehicle following closely. A traffic stop was conducted and a MAS (mandatory alcohol screening) demand read. The driver provided two breath samples, both “fail” results. A provincial impaired driving suspension was issued and the car was seized for impound.
2:19 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 49 Ave – Complainant reported that she believed her husband had been scammed over a fraudulent employment scam. Under investigation.
6:20 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported a suspicious vehicle parked at a suspected drug house. Member attended and checked a vehicle but it was unclear if it was the vehicle reported. The complainant advised the original vehicle had since left.
