A cold front is expected to move through the Brazeau County and Drayton Valley area Monday afternoon and evening, reaching the American border Monday night.
Officials with Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) say this front will usher in a cooler air mass along with rain and snow.
Meteorologists predict precipitation will start as rain before changing to snow overnight. They also note that with temperatures hovering just above zero degrees Celsius, precipitation type as well as snowfall accumulations will vary greatly.
Officials say they are uncertain as to how much snowfall will accumulate, though amounts of 5 to 10 cm are possible by Wednesday morning in some locations.
Meteorologists say calm and cooler conditions are forecast for Wednesday and the remainder of the week.
