February 1
1:50 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported a beat-up red Dodge truck driving around town losing items from the box. Members are aware of the described truck and its owner, but were unable to locate it at the time and the anonymous complainant could not be contacted for further information.
3:43 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported the donation bins in the Dodson Plaza parking lot had been damaged twice in the past 2.5 weeks.
7:05 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Hwy 22/34 St – Complainant reported a white Ram pickup swerving all over the road, possibly due to an impaired driver. Member contacted the owner who came to the detachment and provided a breath sample which confirmed he was sober. The driver explained he had been using a map program and was thus distracted. Driver warned.
February 2
2:25 a.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported that she and her new boyfriend were being threatened by her ex husband. The complainant had reportedly told the ex-husband to meet them at a location in Tomahawk to settle things. Member investigated and determined the messages were between all three and all were antagonizing each other. Member determined there were no grounds for charges and suggested to the complainant that trying to arrange a meet with someone who was allegedly threatening you, in the middle of the night and at a rural location was just a bad idea. All parties told to stop communicating with one another.
11:00 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 53 Ave – Member attended a location to locate a wanted female. The female was located with a male she has conditions to not have contact with. The female was held for a telephone bail hearing and subsequently released to appear in court at a later date.
11:27 a.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported suspicious activity from a neighbouring residence, ongoing for a year. Under investigation.
5:13 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Members responded to an alarm at the old Eldorado/DCS school building. Building cleared, no suspects located, though someone had spray painted “TC” in the old library and damaged a shed door outside. Under investigation.
11:36 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave – Member on patrol stopped a pickup due to erratic driving and expired registration. The driver provided two samples of his breath into a roadside screening device, both resulted in a “caution” reading. The driver was issued a 3-day suspension and the truck was impounded. Driver was also issued a warning for having expired registration.
11:44 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St/52 Ave – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop after observing a violation. Member issued a MAS (mandatory alcohol screening) demand and provided two samples of his breath, both resulted in “fail” readings. The driver was issued a provincial impaired driving suspension and the vehicle was impounded for 30 days.
February 3
12:30 p.m. – Tomahawk area – Member was heading west on Hwy 624 and observed an SUV pass in the opposite direction at high speed; radar indicated 182 km/h. Member turned around only to witness the SUV cross Hwy 759 without stopping and continue east on Twp Rd 510. The SUV drove straight across the highway and was airborne for a distance before slamming into the ground and then re-acquiring the road. The member was able to conduct a traffic stop about 1 km east where the driver stopped, likely due to vehicle damage. A 35-year-old male from Saskatchewan was arrested for Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Impaired Driving and transported to cells where he was held for a telephone bail hearing. Charges were added for resisting a peace officer and mischief due to his extreme behaviour while in custody. He was subsequently released by a Justice of the Peace and the SUV was impounded.
11:30 p.m. – 49 Ave – Member on patrol located two youth in Lions West Valley Park with a campfire that was spilling out of the contained fire pit. The fire was extinguished by the member.
February 4
9:34 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 54 St – Complainant reported a female who was banned from the shelter pods was at the location. Member attended removed the female along with several other persons.
10:16 a.m. – Yellowhead County – Complainant reported that sometime overnight, about 30 cases of motor oil were stolen from a Seacan on a lease site.
7:20 p.m. – Brazeau County – Easyford – Complainant reported two people trespassing on his property. The complainant heard voices and called out but the unknown persons went quiet and turned off their flashlights. Members attended and searched the area but no one was found. A neighbour had also seen flashlights.
8:30 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 45 St – Member located a female wanted on a warrant out of Edmonton. The female was arrested and held for a telephone bail hearing. She was subsequently released by a Justice of the Peace to appear at a later date.
February 5
8:14 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 53 Ave – Complainant reported a female banging on an apartment window and refusing to leave. Member attended, female was looking for her husband and a warm place as she is homeless. The female left on her own accord.
February 6
3:48 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 46 Ave – Complainant reported a suspicious black Ram truck had been circling the block and parking in random spots for about an hour, though no one was getting out. Member attended and located the truck which was unoccupied. Members are aware of the driver but unclear what he was up to.
February 7
7:49 a.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reported a female walking on Hwy 22 who appeared intoxicated and was stumbling. Members attended and located the female who was arrested for public intoxication. She was held in cells and released when sober.
12:25 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported a male passed out in a running vehicle in a parking lot. Members attended and found the male driver overdosing; naloxone was administered and paramedics called. The male was transported to hospital where he recovered. A provincial impaired driving sanction was issued.
12:27 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported almost $10,000 taken from his bank account, transferred to a credit card that was not his. Under investigation.
3:28 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 47 Ave – Complainant reported graffiti spray-painted on a building, sometime earlier in the day. Under investigation.
3:30 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 42 St – Complainant reported some equipment stolen from his garage, occurred sometime overnight on Feb. 3. Under investigation.
6:59 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Members attended for an alarm at the vacant former Drayton Christian School and found apparent new damage to the building. Members cleared the building and found no one. Property representative advised, under investigation.
10:17 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Members again attended the old Drayton Christian School campus for alarms. The building was cleared and no new damage or persons were located.
February 8
12:56 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Third call of the night for alarms at the old Drayton Christian School. Members attended and located 4 youth, aged 13 to 17, who admitted they had been in the school. All parents were awoken and called to attend and pickup their wayward youth. All involved were given a warning and advised it would be the only warning.
