Applications are due by the end of the year for a local program that aims to reduce water consumption in the community.
The Town of Drayton Valley says the Preserve Our Ultimate Resource (P.O.U.R) program is available for customers receiving Town water service who install approved fixtures or appliances that reduce water consumption.
According to officials, you may qualify for a credit of $100 on your Town utility bill (there is a limitation of one credit of $100 per year per address) and each upgrade entitles you to one entry in a draw to win a $500 credit on your Town utility bill.
As a bonus, councillors say if you purchased your energy-efficient appliance locally, you may be eligible for an additional $50 rebate on your Town utility bill.
To qualify, proof of purchase and installation are required on all water consumption-reducing appliances before Dec. 31, 2023.
