Officials with Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) have confirmed a tornado touched down near Wildwood, west of Edmonton Monday night.
ECCC says the tornado was observed at approximately 9:30 p.m.. near Wildwood.
The weather agency says there have been no reports of damage specific to the tornado at this time. Officials say this tornado has not yet been given any rating as further investigation is required.
ECCC says a second tornado, however, may have occurred earlier in the evening. At approximately 6:05 p.m., a funnel cloud was reported near Cynthia, northwest of Drayton Valley, and was associated with a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado.

ECCC says significant hail was also reported on July 24, with a maximum measurement received of 8.7 cm. Multiple reports of golf ball up to nearly baseball size hail were reported in several severe thunderstorms east of Edson.
Elsewhere, heat over southern Alberta also created a number of new records in that portion of the province on Monday.
