Alberta RCMP App – The AB RCMP mobile app is now available as a free download through the Apple App and Google Play Stores. The app does not track or monitor users in any way. It provides easy access to Online Crime Reporting, Crime Mapping, Detachment information, Project Lock Up, Crime Stoppers, as well as RCMP news and social media accounts.
Surveillance Camera Registry – If you have a surveillance system at your home or business, you can register it with the Drayton Valley RCMP to help officers identify locations that may have valuable evidence to aid in investigations. June 1
8:20 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Complaint received from a doctor regarding a patient harassing staff and making threats. Member spoke to all parties, warning issued to the patient, member aware there has been some unusual family stressors that likely contributed.
4:36 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 54 St/50 Ave – Complainant reported that a male who had been evicted was at the location yelling and screaming, trying to get people to fight. Members attended but the male had left, likely unable to find a suitable opponent.
June 2
1:41 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 49 Ave – Complainant reported that a paycheque for an ex-employee had been deposited after “new banking information” was supplied via email. Police suggest always confirming such bank change requests via phone or in person.
5:18 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave – Members on patrol located a suspicious flat-deck trailer with no plate. Further inspection found the VIN’s removed. Trailer seized, investigation by Auto Theft unit determined the trailer had been stolen in December 2022 from Edmonton. Under investigation.
9:12 p.m. – Tomahawk – Complainant reported that his neighbour was having a violent outburst and when he confronted him he picked up a steel pipe and threatened him. Members attended and located a very intoxicated male who was arrested and released at the scene and then transported to his cousin’s place to sober up. Court date pending.
9:12 p.m. – Tomahawk – Second complaint involving the above male. Male suspect barged into a residence and threatened to stab the resident but ended up getting a hands-on attitude adjustment and was then forcibly removed. No charges laid regarding this incident as the residents declined to provide statements.
June 3
3:31 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave/54 St – EMS requested assistance with a male who had cut his hand after smashing a glass; threatening suicide. Members attended and found the intoxicated male fighting with a male and female in a suite. One male taken to hospital, the other male arrested and held until he was sober. Room damaged, under investigation for possible charges.
12:45 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 42 St – Complainant reported his wife’s vehicle rummaged through overnight and keys left inside were taken. Complainant concerned the suspects will return for the vehicle. Member provided some guidance to prevent such a theft until they can get the car to the dealership for a more permanent solution.
1:06 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Power Ctr Blvd – Complainant reported a suspicious item found by a garbage bin. Item was small, appeared wrapped in aluminum foil with wires protruding. Member attended but the item wasn’t located. Complainant had made some inquiries and now suspected it was a vape battery as there is (apparently) a trend for youth to do stupid things with such items; akin to eating Tide pods.
6:19 p.m. – Brazeau County – Twp Rd 492 – Complainant reported a suspicious female walking in the middle of the road, female stated she was trying to get a ride. Member located the female and confirmed she was trying to get a ride home. Member determined the female had two warrants out of Rocky Mtn House. Female arrested and released at the discretion of Rocky Mtn House to appear at a later date.
June 4
2:53 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 54 St/50 Ave – Complainant reported a male and female trespassing in the laundry room and further stated that the male had chased her. Members attended, complainant irate and causing a disturbance, wanting police to enter a room without any legal justification. The alleged trespassers weren’t located.
9:00 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 46 St – Member attended a residence to serve a subpoena. The subpoena recipient didn’t answer the door but a male was located in the garage. This male is on conditions of no contact with the female, but claimed it was his residence. Member later determined this was a lie. Charges pending against the male for breaching several conditions.
10:30 p.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Members in the area for another call located the male from the prior call. The male was confirmed to be intoxicated and witnesses were able to confirm he had driven his vehicle. The male refused to provide a breath sample and was subsequently issued a provincial impaired driving suspension.
June 5
12:36 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 40 Ave – Complainant reported that his son’s ex girlfriend stole his car. Member had to unravel the circumstances as the vehicle had been sold back and forth previously. The car was returned to the complainant and charges are pending against a 22-year-old female.
3:56 p.m. – Brazeau County – RR 71 – Complainant reported an erratic, possibly impaired driver in a white Jeep. Member located the vehicle at the owner’s residence, after some investigation a 24-hour suspension was issued due to suspected impairment by prescription drugs.
June 6
10:40 a.m. – Brazeau County – RR 80 – Complainant reported people trespassing at a residence that had burned in the fire. Complainant had confronted the suspects who claimed to be family members, but then left. Based on the vehicle description a suspect was identified. Under investigation.
12:46 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Industrial Road – Complainant reported a male on a motorbike was tailgating so she “brake checked” him. The rider then passed on the right yelling “what the f?” Member tried to contact both parties without success. Don’t tailgate, don’t brake check.
2:40 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Coach Motel – Complainant reported a disturbance. Husband and wife at the location cleaning out a room for their son, female from another room came over and an altercation occurred. A male was arrested for assault due to punching the complainant in the face. He was released on an Undertaking to appear in court later. While members were dealing with the male at the detachment, the female victim called a half dozen more times with further information and concerns, mostly related to her inability to avoid the other parties while they loaded up.
