Alberta RCMP App – The AB RCMP mobile app is now available as a free download through the Apple App and Google Play Stores. The app does not track or monitor users in any way. It provides easy access to Online Crime Reporting, Crime Mapping, Detachment information, Project Lock Up, Crime Stoppers, as well as RCMP news and social media accounts.
Surveillance Camera Registry – If you have a surveillance system at your home or business, you can register it with the Drayton Valley RCMP to help officers identify locations that may have valuable evidence to aid in investigations. January 26
01:20 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 49 Avenue – Police called to a domestic disturbance. Complainant called police advising her roommates had gotten into a domestic dispute. Members attended and located the female victim who had marks on her face. Female victim not co-operative with police, was angry that they were called. Male suspect had fled, he is on conditions not to be at the residence or in contact with the female due to prior assault. Arrest warrant issued for the male suspect.
January 29
00:14 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 43 Street- Police called to a mental health complaint. Complainant called police advising they were concerned for a friend’s mental health after receiving a sudden goodbye text. Members located the friend who was surprised police were at their residence. Turns out his parents are wise and shut off his access to the internet at midnight so he had to say goodbye quickly.
5:31 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 49 Avenue – Police called by fish and wildlife requesting assistance with dispatching a deer. Members attended and upon approaching the deer, the deer recognizing their impending doom got up and ran into the woods.
January 30
7:18 p.m. – Brazeau County – 49A Street – Police called about a male sitting in his unregistered vehicle, thinks he might drive. Complainant then updated and advised that the vehicle has now been turned off, and the male went back inside. Members explained that it is not an offence to sit in your parked, unregistered vehicle.
7:24 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Missing male called in to police. Complainant called police advising his father was on a work trip in the area of Drayton Valley and he can’t get a hold of him. Members followed up by calling the father who answered his phone and advised he was just driving in an area without service.
February 1
03:29 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 55A Avenue – Complainant called the police and advised the following: A couple days ago the love of his life came over and freaked out because of the red lights in his basement. A few days later the basement flooded due to a cloth getting sucked up into the pump, but he is confused as to where the water is being displaced to. He believes that Drayton Valley is sinking and wants the RCMP to pass it along to the federal agency in order to help. Member went outside and checked to see if Drayton Valley was sinking, didn’t look like it. RCMP already a federal agency, so no need to pass it along, we are here to help. Investigation complete. Lesson to be learned here children – drugs are bad.
11:51 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Omniplex parking lot – Police noted a vehicle driving recklessly through town drifting every corner. Members followed the vehicle which went to the Omniplex parking lot and began showing everybody his donut skills. Two other cars joined in as the spinning donuts challenge commenced. All three vehicles then decided to go race through the campground behind the Omniplex treating it as a drifting track. Upon returning to the Omniplex parking lot all three vehicles stopped and stunting tickets issued to all three drivers.
