Rural healthcare will be the focus of a major conference being held in Drayton Valley this week.
The Rural Health Professions Action Plan (RhPAP), in association with the Pembina Physician Recruitment and Retention Committee, will be hosting their “Put on your Perspectacles: Looking through the rural lens” conference at the Clean Energy Technology Centre (CETC) in Drayton Valley, October 4 – 6, 2022.
Officials say the conference provides an excellent opportunity for those involved in the attraction and retention of health providers in rural Alberta to learn from each other and to share best practices.
This provincial conference is described as an opportunity for rural attraction and retention committee members, as well as interested community members and stakeholders from across Alberta, to come together and share experiences and best practices, learn about new rural health workforce attraction and retention initiatives, and network with other individuals and groups engaged in this work.
Tuesday’s entertainment at the CETC includes a drumming circle by Circles of Rhythm and the music of local artist Kaylee Stewart.
Weather permitting, Wednesday evening’s entertainment at Willey West Campground, features local music artist Erin Kay. If inclement weather prevails, Kay will perform at the CETC.
