Alberta RCMP App – The AB RCMP mobile app is now available as a free download through the Apple App and Google Play Stores. The app does not track or monitor users in any way. It provides easy access to Online Crime Reporting, Crime Mapping, Detachment information, Project Lock Up, Crime Stoppers, as well as RCMP news and social media accounts.
Surveillance Camera Registry – If you have a surveillance system at your home or business, you can register it with the Drayton Valley RCMP to help officers identify locations that may have valuable evidence to aid in investigations. August 25
9:50 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 54 Avenue – complainant reporting they found a backpack and duffle bag with bolt cutters and other miscellaneous items in their yard. Copper wire that had been cut from the generators was found in the backpack and duffle bag. Member attended and seized items including brass knuckles.
12:54 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Members on patrol located known male who had a warrant for their arrest. Search incidental to arrest located methamphetamine. Male charged accordingly. Individual held for a bail hearing.
12:54 p.m. – Brazeau County – Landfill – Report received of a naked female near the landfill. Members attended and located known female. Female instructed to put her clothes back on.
5:32 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 43A Street – Report received of a fraudulent transaction on credit card. They received $5000 and were told to purchase gift cards from Wal Mart. Members located individual at Wal Mart and advised them this was a scam. They provided further information regarding these types of frauds.
7:23 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – Report received of a known female jumping in and out of traffic. Shortly after a report came in regarding a theft of motor vehicle. Both vehicle and driver, known female were located. Female arrested and charged, held for a bail hearing.
August 26
10:41 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 46 Street – Report received of a fraud. Several unauthorized transactions have occurred. Several items have been purchased and shipped to an address in Quebec. Matter is under investigation.
6:48 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Report received of an erratic driver. Black truck with a broken passenger side taillight was speeding and weaving in and out of traffic. Members patrolled the area, vehicle and driver located in front of the Oil Country Taphouse. Members attempted roadside screening device, driver refused to provide sample. Vehicle towed and driver charged with refusal.
8:50 p.m. – Tomahawk – Report received of loud banging and yelling. Members attended and located the residence. Members spoke with the resident of the house who advised they were mad because they stepped in dog poo.
10:45 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Member received a complaint regarding blackmail via Facebook. Complainant stated they had been talking with an individual over Facebook for the past few weeks and forwarded explicit photos. Other person has asked them to send money or they would leak the photos. Member advised the complainant to not provide money or anymore photos.
August 27
1:05 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 46 Street – Report received of harassment. Former co worker had agreed to store the complainants furniture until they moved. Several messages were sent that were inappropriate. Individual has asked them to stop with the messages. Complainant has their furniture back now.
8:52 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 41A Avenue – Complainant reporting their door handle was broken and lock punched out on vehicle.
August 28
3:28 a.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Checkstop being conducted on Hwy 22. One driver who was a GDL driver, had alcohol in system. Vehicle towed and drivers licence suspended.
4:00 a.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Members conducting a checkstop observed a vehicle attempting to avoid the checkstop. Vehicle stop was initiated. Driver was a GDL driver who was given the roadside screening device, results of which showed alcohol in system. Vehicle towed and licence suspended.
6:28 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Aquatic Centre – Report of break and enter to new aquatic centre. Two individuals had gained entry by kicking in the north door. Individuals were now in the lunch room. Small tv and power cable taken. Members attended, two individuals arrested and charged.
10:16 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. When they approached the vehicle, the member noted a strong smell of marijuana. Vehicle search was conducted which resulted in various weapons being located. Two females and two males were arrested on various matters. All individuals were held for bail hearings.
11:36 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 45 Avenue – Report received of drug paraphernalia at the rodeo grounds. Indication of a fire being started under the bleachers was also found. Member attended and seized items which were disposed of.
August 29
10:50 a.m. – Drayton Valley – complainant attended the detachment to report a fraud. They had sent $100 to what they believed was a real company, the company asked for more money several times.
12:26 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Country Style Trailer Court – complainant reporting their vehicle had been rummaged through sometime overnight. Wallet had been stolen and returned as it had been found on the roadway.
August 30
8:02 a.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Report of theft of 2018 white Volkswagen Atlas. Vehicle had been recovered before it had been reported stolen. Vehicle had been burned.
11:13 a.m. – Brazeau County – Statement received regarding individuals cutting trees on Crown land. Members attended and spoke with all parties. Individual had received permission to cut down the dead trees. Same confirmed by members.
3:32 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 53 Avenue – Report of a female in the hallway of apartment building yelling. Female now moved into the parking lot and is causing a ruckus. Members attended, and spoke with known female who was advised to stay away from building.
August 31
2:30 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Report received of a single vehicle rollover. Members attended and located two individuals who were subsequently transported to hospital by EMS. Matter is still under investigation as alcohol possibly a factor.
8:29 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – Individual attended the detachment with an iPhone they had found outside the back door of the Big West Radio Station.
September 1
3:14 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Report of a disturbance at the Westview Manor. Would like male removed from apartment, male was supposed to have been out the previous day. Members attended and spoke with male who was advised to keep the noise down.
