Alberta RCMP App – The AB RCMP mobile app is now available as a free download through the Apple App and Google Play Stores. The app does not track or monitor users in any way. It provides easy access to Online Crime Reporting, Crime Mapping, Detachment information, Project Lock Up, Crime Stoppers, as well as RCMP news and social media accounts.
Surveillance Camera Registry – If you have a surveillance system at your home or business, you can register it with the Drayton Valley RCMP to help officers identify locations that may have valuable evidence to aid in investigations. March 3
10:33 am – Drayton Valley – 50th street -Theft of Truck – Complainant contacted police to advise that a truck had been stolen form their yard. Police attended, surveillance footage obtained. Investigation continuing.
12:00 pm – Drayton Valley – Theft from the Post Office. – Post office employee contacted police to report a theft from the post office lobby. Thieves stole the vent covers, baseboards and floor mat. No mail stolen. Investigation is continuing.
12:51 pm – Drayton Valley – Mental Health – Members responded to a complaint of a male threatening to commit suicide. Member attended and made entry into the male’s residence. Male located and spoken with by police, determined not to be an immediate threat to himself. Family attended to provide male with support.
1:35 pm – Drayton Valley – Highway 620 – Single vehicle collision on highway 620, complainant reported they hit a patch of ice and lost control colliding with the berm. No injuries, vehicle towed.
2:00 pm – Drayton Valley – 50th avenue – Parking complaint. Complaint referred to Drayton Valley community Peace Officer.
2:25 pm – Drayton Valley – 52nd street – Well being check – Complainant called advising her mother was ending her current relationship with her boyfriend and requesting a well being check on her mother. Police attended and spoke with the complainant’s mother. Mother was currently safe and safety planning was done.
2:34 pm – Brazeau County – Poplar Ridge – Mental health – Female called police distraught and not making a lot of sense. RPACT unit out of Rocky Mountain House contacted and plan created to help complainant. Members attended, female highly intoxicated and refused help from police.
3:44 pm – Drayton Valley – 50th street – 911 hang up received from local business. Police determined there was no emergency, just a misdial.
5:27 pm – Brazeau County – Highway 22 – Road Rage – Complainant advised they had been cut off by a truck so he honked at the truck. Drive of the truck then gave him the finger and swerved at him like he was going to hit him, but then drove away. Patrols made, truck not located.
6:44 pm – Drayton Valley – 50th avenue – Complaint received of a male wearing a black jacket stumbling and screaming near Wendy’s. Members attended the area, but were unable to locate the male.
7:35 pm – Brazeau County – Breach of Emergency Protection Order – Complainant called advising their ex had breached the emergency protection order they had in place. Police spoke with complainant, investigation continuing.
March 4
2:23 am – Brazeau County – Poplar Ridge – Mental health – Complainant contacted police advising she believed someone was trying to break into her residence. Police attended, no tracks in the fresh snow anywhere near the residence. Complainant advised no one has been near her residence. Complainant highly intoxicated.
8:12 am – Drayton Valley – 50th street – TD bank called requesting the removal of a violent female in their vestibule. Members attended, located the female and removed her from the bank.
8:27 am – Brazeau County – RR73/Twp Rd 504 – Complainant attended the detachment to report being involved in a collision at location. One vehicle stopped and then proceeded into intersection, second vehicle slid on ice and hit first
8:44 am – Drayton Valley – 54 Ave – Complainant requested police attend a residence while he retrieved belongings from his ex. Complainant called back advising he had spoken to his ex and police wouldn’t be required
11:06 am – Drayton Valley – 45 St – Complainant attended the detachment to report harassing communications from an ex boyfriend. Under investigation
11:50 am – Drayton Valley – 52 Ave – Complainant attended the detachment reporting that while parking she slid into a building, damaging her vehicle
2:02 pm – Drayton Valley – 49 St – Complainant requested a wellbeing check on his daughter. Member attended, daughter dealing with some mental health issues but was not in any distress
2:54 pm – Brazeau County – RR75 – Complainant leaving for work out of town, concerned a male may attend his residence and cause issues for family due to an ongoing civil matter
3:10 pm – Drayton Valley – 34 Ave (Twp Rd 491)/64 St – two separate reports received that a truck was washing off at the commercial scales, causing an icing concern. Member attended but the truck had left the area. Company representative spoken to about the concerns
4:58 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant called from out of the area reporting concern for her daughter while residing with her father and step-mother. Member already aware of the situation from multiple past complaints, no concern for safety of the daughter.
5:06 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 St – Complainant reported observing a male in her building who was suspected of previously vandalizing laundry machines. Member attended and cleared the building common areas. Male not located.
5:08 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant reported a family member missing, stated he usually calls daily but hasn’t since being fired from an oilfield job while working around Drayton Valley. The male later called family advising he was fine and at a residence in Calgary
5:47 pm – Drayton Valley – Post Office – Complainant reported persons loitering in the post office. Member attended and cleared those loitering.
5:53 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Ave – Complainant reported a truck with the radio still on, thought someone may have tried to steal it. Member attended and found the truck secure with the radio now off.
8:00 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave/Hwy 22 – Complainant reported a possible impaired driver in a beige Jeep. Member patrolled the area but didn’t locate the vehicle or an impaired driver
9:10 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave/54 St – Complainant reported a previously evicted female was in a room at the location. Member spoke to the complainant and advised that other tenants could still choose to have her in their room as a guest
March 5
1:54 am – Rocky Rapids – Anonymous complainant reported a female had left Rocky Rapids headed toward Drayton Valley and was driving erratically. Vehicle description provided, plate number unknown. Member patrolled the area, vehicle not located
5:40 am – Brazeau County – Anonymous complainant reported a female had left Edmonton area to attend a job site near Drayton Valley, and believed the female was impaired. Insufficient information to look for the female and member unable to reach company safety representative
2:12 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 St/50 Ave – Member on patrol observed a wanted male walking in the area. Member stopped and advised the male he was under arrest, but the male chose to attempt escape by running away through deep snow. The snow running proved more difficult than expected and the male was located and arrested nearby. Earl Bird of Drayton Valley now faces an additional charge of resisting arrest. Telephone bail hearing pending
5:42 pm – Brazeau County – Members attended a residence to assist paramedics with a female in some sort of distress. Members apprehended the female under the Mental Health Act and transported her to a designated facility for assessment and treatment.
6:13 pm – Brazeau County – RR 75 – Complainant reported that someone created a fake social media account in her daughters name and was now messaging threats to friends. Under investigation
6:29 pm – Brazeau County – Rocky Rapids – Complainant reported that a previous roommate sold complainants vehicle to her drug dealer. Complainant contacted the alleged drug dealer who said he had crashed the vehicle. Under investigation
7:19 pm – Brazeau County – Lodgepole – Complainant reported hearing several gunshots over the past hour and some shouting. Members attended the area and located people who had shot off some fireworks at the time the shots were heard
9:38 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reported a truck driving erratically, pulling a trailer that was creating sparks as it was hitting the ground. Last seen headed south on the Buck Creek Rd. Breton members located a matching truck and trailer in the ditch off Buck Creek Rd. Occupants advised they ended up in the ditch after the trailer detached. Breton member issued ticket for failing to have secondary means of attachment.
March 6
3:18 am – Drayton Valley – RR 73 – Complainant reported a male passed out in a snowbank. Member attended and located a male walking in the middle of the road trying to flag down vehicles for a ride. The male, who was mildly intoxicated, was given a courtesy ride to his destination for his own safety
8:45 am – Drayton Valley – Beckett Road – Complainant reporting a pothole in the road that they fear will cause an accident. Members attended and advised complainant that they would contact the town of Drayton Valley.
9:16 am – Brazeau County – RR 73 – Member on patrol observed a vehicle speeding. Traffic stop initiated and driver issued a violation ticket.
11:09 am – Drayton Valley – Power Center Blvd. – Complainant reported a hit and run while parked in the parking lot at Canadian tire. Damage to their 2008 Grey Jeep Grand Cherokee. Suspect vehicle is a 2006 GMC Sierra, Black in colour.
4:57 pm – Drayton Valley – 51 Street – Member on patrol observed a vehicle run a red light. Traffic stop initiated. Driver blew a fail on the road side screening device. Vehicle seized for 30 days. Driver also issued a violation ticket for no drivers licence.
6:29 pm – Brazeau county – Rr 73 – Report of a break and enter to a business. No items taken, tractor door window broken. Bay door had been lifted open.
7:19 pm – Brazeau County – Rr 81 – Report of a missing person received. Individual was last seen on March 1. Person had gone out to cut firewood. Individual later located at another residence.
8:04 PM – Brazeau County – complainant reported that they were travelling on RR 81 when a deer came out of the ditch and collided with their vehicle. No injuries to the occupants, sadly, the deer was deceased.
10:45 pm – Brazeau county – Hwy 620 – Report of a break and enter to a lease site. Members attended, vehicle had left prior to arrival.
10:46 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Report of a 911 hang-up. 2 calls received. Second call a male requested police assistance. Members responded, everything fine, no issues.
11:01 pm – Drayton Valley – 34 Avenue- Report of unwanted persons. Callers family had arrived and were causing issues. Members attended, all parties intoxicated and playing video games.
March 7
2:05 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Report of a dispute happening at 7-11. Individuals started to fight in the store. Consensual fight. Members attended, one party had left prior to arrival, other two individuals provided a courtesy ride.
8:45 am – Drayton Valley – Report received of an assault which occurred in Leduc. Member took a statement and matter is still under investigation.
9:21 am – Drayton Valley – 44 Street – Report received of an abandoned vehicle. Individual was evicted from the property approximately 1 month ago and given time to remove the vehicle. As the vehicle is parked on private property it is up to the owner to have vehicle towed.
9:54 am – Tomahawk – Members received report of an alarm at the curling rink. Members attended and cleared the building. No one located. The door that triggered the alarm was slightly ajar and appeared it had not been shut properly previously and with the high wind it caused it to blow open.
10:56 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Driver issued a violation ticket for no registration.
1:04 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – Report of a disturbance at OCT. 3 males did not have identification and were upset that they were not being served. Males had attempted to take servers phone which was later recovered by staff. Members attended, males had left in a taxi prior to arrival.
2:48 pm – Brazeau County – Request for members assistance with retrieval of keys from ex.
2:57 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant attended the detachment to report a breach of conditions. Member spoke with individual. No breach had occurred.
4:03 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 621 – Report of a single vehicle rollover. EMS transported driver to hospital with undetermined injuries.
6:53 pm – Parkland County – Request to assist fire department with a structure fire. Everyone escaped the structure without injury.
7:40 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Report of a vehicle in the ditch. Road conditions very poor and icy. Members attended and located 2 vehicles in the ditch. No injuries.
9:27 pm – Brazeau county – Hwy 22 – Report received of a single vehicle rollover. Driver had been brought to Drayton Valley. Member attended, no injuries.
9:39 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. GDL driver did not have anyone with them. Violation ticket issued.
9:53 pm – Drayton Valley – 47 Street – Report of a assault received. Members attended. Statements and photos taken of injuries. Male arrested and charged with assault.
March 8
12:04 am – Drayton Valley – 56 Street – Report received of a possible intoxicated driver. Members attended location and spoke with individual who was intoxicated and very belligerent. Other party advised they had been driving and were sober.
7:26 am – Brazeau county – Report received of a residence on fire on RR 91. All members of the residence were able to get out with no injuries. Member attended to assist fire department.
10:01 am – Drayton Valley – Report received of threats received via text message. Statement taken in which texted threats had been received the past December. Matter is still under investigation.
12:45 pm – Drayton Valley – 45 Avenue – Member requested to follow up with a previous assault/threats file involving students. Member spoke with all parties involved and advised of the ramifications of behaviour.
1:29 PM – Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – Complainant attended to the detachment to report a camper van had been broken into sometime between March 4 and 5th. Several items taken.
3:20 PM – Brazeau County – RR 91 – Request to assist fire department with rekindle of fire that had occurred earlier. Member advised they did not need to attend, for information purposes.
4:00 pm – Brazeau County – Report received that while driving on Township Road 494 a deer came out of the ditch and collided with their vehicle.
6:15 pm – Drayton Valley – 49 Street – complainant reporting a custody issue. Have not spoken to children for 4 days. Member spoke with all parties involved. Member advised complainant that they would be able to speak with children the next day.
6:38 pm – Lodgepole – 911 hang-up received requesting police. Member attended location of call and learned that the caller was not wanted at the residence and residents would like him removed as he was intoxicated. Member arrested male and brought them to Drayton Valley where he was held until sober.
8:21 pm – Brazeau county – Complainant called regarding the previous report of the break and enter to their trailer. Complainant has a suspect.
March 9
1:23 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Request for members to assist with gathering belongings as per court order. Arrangements have been made in the future for this to occur.
2:26 pm – Brazeau County – Report of a Fraud. Complainant had put their vehicle up for sale and two unknown numbers texted complainant with same message. Complainant blocked both numbers. No money out.
9:35 pm – Drayton Valley – 26 Avenue – Report of a single vehicle collision at a vehicle dealership. Driver is possibly intoxicated. Members attended, 24 hour suspension given, vehicle towed. Driver arrested and held in detachment cells until sober.
11:24 pm – Drayton Valley – 40 Avenue – Member on patrol observed a vehicle failing to stop before entering intersection. Violation ticket issued to driver.
March 10
Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Report of a commercial alarm. Members attended and noted front door glass broken and entry had been gained. Members cleared building. Numerous items stolen from shelves. Matter is still under investigation.
2:00 am – Brazeau County – 911 call of a dispute. Members attended, complainants story did not make much sense. Complainant intoxicated. Matter is still under investigation.
2:38 AM – Brazeau county – report of a collision received. Neighbour ran into trailer and vehicle. Members attended. Suspect vehicle had been started to warm up and rolled into vehicle and trailer.
