December 9
08:11 am – Cynthia – Report of an erratic driver in a gravel truck drifting into oncoming traffic on highway 753. Vehicle unable to be located by police.
08:53 am – Drayton Valley – Report of a theft of personal property. RCMP continues to investigate.
1:13 pm – Brazeau county – Hwy 22 – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Driver issued a violation ticket for no insurance.
4:10 pm – Drayton Valley – RCMP called to assist EMS in locating a female who required medical attention. Female was eventually able to provide her location and was located. EMS provided the medical attention required.
4:11 pm – Drayton Valley – Report of vehicles doing donuts in the Omniplex parking lot. Vehicles located by police and drivers spoken with about making good choices. Drivers issued warnings.
5:45 pm – Drayton Valley – Well being check requested on a male. Police attended and spoke with the male, it was determined the male was ok.
6:13 pm – Drayton Valley – Police were called after a male caused a disturbance at a local business. Members attended and spoke with the complainant as the male suspect had already departed. Male suspect contacted by police and advised he is no longer welcome at the business.
6:15 pm – Drayton Valley – Complaint received of vehicles driving in the ditch near the baseball diamonds. Members attended the area and located multiple younger males. Mandatory Alcohol Screening tests on all the drivers, all were sober. Warnings issued to all drivers.
7:20 PM – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Driver issued a violation ticket for no registration.
8:17 pm – Highway 22 – Complaint received of a white ford pickup truck driving erratically. Patrols made for the truck but members were unable to locate it.
December 10
01:10 am – Highway 22 – Complaint received of an intoxicated driver in the ditch. Police attended and spoke with the driver who advised he had hit ice causing him to hit the ditch. Mandatory Alcohol Screening done with the driver and he blew a 0.
03:38 am – Drayton Valley – Call received of a male sleeping in the vestibule of a local business. Members attended and male was no longer present.
8:48 am – Drayton Valley – 55 Ave – Complainant reported an insecure residence. Members attended, found someone home, likely door hadn’t properly latched
11:37 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 621 – Complainant attended the detachment to report hitting a deer earlier in the morning
1:30 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave – Complainant attended to report collision that occurred on December 6
3:06 pm – Drayton Valley – File opened to assist Edmonton Police in serving documents
3:48 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Member on patrol observed an individual driving while talking on their cell phone. Traffic stop initiated and driver issued a violation ticket.
4:09 pm – Drayton Valley – 51 Street – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Driver issued a violation ticket for no registration.
4:50 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave – Complainant reported an unwanted female at a location causing a disturbance. Members attended, female had left already
5:04 pm – Drayton Valley – Greenwood Trailer Park – Complainant reported her ex breaching no contact conditions. Under investigation
5:10 pm – Drayton Valley – Greenwood Trailer Park – Complainant requested a welfare check, hadn’t been able to reach her daughter for a few hours. Complainant then called back to cancel as she had made contact. Members spoke to the daughter and determined there were no concerns.
7:23 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22/621 – Complainant reported a red Camaro did a donut at the intersection, spraying rocks at his vehicle. Members received the information after a time delay, vehicle not located and no plate provided
7:30 pm – Drayton Valley – McKenzie Center – Complainant reported losing her wallet, thought it may have been turned in. Complainant called back to advise she found the wallet but it was missing $80 and her debit card
9:02 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Driver issued a violation ticket for no registration.
9:34 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 St S – Complainant reported hearing a bang and a car alarm and observed an older Dodge Caravan take off from where a truck was parked. Member attended and noted the drivers door handle broken. Owner of truck advised, under investigation
9:44 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave/54 St – Information received that there were wanted persons in a residence. Members attended and located two males with active warrants and one breaching curfew. All were arrested; one male was released to appear in court at a later date, one was held for a telephone bail hearing as he had several warrants and the third was transported to remand due to unpaid fines
10:32 pm – Drayton Valley – 56 Ave – Complainant reported being assaulted at a residence. Under investigation
11:44 pm – Drayton Valley – 53 Ave – Complainant attended the detachment and reported he was assaulted by an acquaintance and a couple friends. Members obtained a statement from the accused male who provided a different version of events. Under investigation
December 11
1:56 am – Drayton Valley – RCMP – Taxi driver brought an intoxicated fare to the detachment after being unable to rouse him. Members arrested the 30-year-old male for public intoxication and held him in cells until he was sober as he appeared to have no other options.
5:30 am – Drayton Valley – Fas Gas – Complainant reported that at about 2:30 am she observed an older Dodge truck at Fas Gas and that the male driver was a suspect in a robbery. Members spoke to the owners of the truck who advised it was lent to family members who were using it for work. Due to time delay members were unable to conduct a timely investigation, but don’t suspect the driver of a robbery
8:30 am – Brazeau County – Elk River Rd – Complainant reported a white Dodge truck parked a few km’s down Elk River Rd. Complainant concerned for the possible driver. Members contacted the owner who advised he was parking it there while working in the area
10:05 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 620 – Complainant reported a logging truck with a trailer swaying to and fro. Members unable to locate the truck, but did speak to the truck’s owner who didn’t believe it to be unsafe. Members notified Commercial Vehicle officers for possible follow-up
10:38 am – Drayton Valley – 45 St – Complainant reported that three days prior his ex had left with his binoculars, and was refusing to return them. Member contacted the female who claimed the male had slashed a tire on her truck. Under investigation
10:46 am – Drayton Valley – 50 St S – Members responded to an open line 911 call, male requesting police. Upon arrival members determined that an elderly male and female, who had been roommates for years, had a dispute over ownership of a table. The female was moving to another location and had taken the table, which the male stated was his. Members advised they could not assign ownership of furniture in such a circumstance
11:15 am – Brazeau County – RR 80 – Complainant requested police assistance in retrieving belongings from his ex girlfriend. Member attended and determined the female had locked him out but his keys were inside. Occupants of the residence refused to cooperate, so the male removed the license plate from his truck and was given a ride back to an alternate location
11:19 AM – Brazeau County – Hwy 620 – Complainant reporting logging truck was unsafe. Sheriffs advised
12:32 pm – Drayton Valley – Hwy 22/Power Center Blvd – Complainant reported the traffic lights not functioning properly. Member attended and found the lights appeared to working intermittently. Highway maintenance advised of the situation
2:23 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22/Twp Rd 505 – Complainant reported a male had put his (2021) F150 in the ditch and appeared impaired. Members attended and determined the male was impaired. The male was cooperative and was issued provincial driving sanctions and his damaged truck was impounded for 30 days. The intoxicated male was subsequently arrested and held in cells for several hours after stating that “if he wasn’t taken to jail he would do something to make officers take him to jail.” Members obliged out of a desire to have satisfied clients.
2:24 pm – Drayton Valley – Power Center Blvd – Complainant reported an older Ford dually had sped through a construction zone spraying rocks, license plate provided. Member located the truck and issued a ticket due to an expired registration
2:49 pm – Brazeau county – Hwy 22 – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Driver issued violation ticket for no registration.
4:57 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported a female who appeared high and possibly in distress laying in front of a business. While online complainant reported the female had entered adjacent business. Member attended and located the female who did appear under the influence of a substance, but had a sober person with her to watch over her
5:08 pm – Drayton Valley – Hospital – Members responded to assist paramedics with an aggressive male. Members determined the male had called for ambulance as he wasn’t feeling well, likely due to intoxication. On arrival the male had calmed down and was being cooperative with hospital staff.
6:29 pm – Drayton Valley – Hospital – Members responded a second time for the same male, who had once again become disruptive and had left the hospital. Members located the male outside with security and returned him to his hotel room as he was no longer welcome at the hospital.
7:04 pm – Brazeau County – RR75 – Complainant reported possible attempted fraud after receiving a call from Publishers Clearing House advising he had won 3.2 million dollars and a Mercedes automobile; all he had to do was purchase a prepaid Visa card to claim the prize. Member confirmed that this was a fraud and gave advice.
7:40 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported that a hotel guest was intoxicated and wouldn’t settle down. Members attended and were advised the guest had settled down and apparently gone to bed. No further police assistance needed.
8:24 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave – Complainant reported that a confused elderly male had knocked on her door and was currently on her deck advising he needed to go to the store for his wife. Members attended and returned the male home and confirmed with his spouse that he was dealing with serious health issues
8:46 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave – Complainant reported a high female behind a business, believes she may be a danger to herself or others. Members attended and located the known female who was given a ride to a friends residence
9:57 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 St S – Complainant reported a possible impaired driver; male driving without lights on and going in circles in a parking lot. Members located the male who provided a breath sample of zero, indicating he was completely sober. Unknown why he was going in circles.
10:16 pm – Brazeau County – RR 80 – Complainant reported a possibly suicidal friend who had sent some troubling messages. Members located the male and determined there were no current safety concerns.
December 12
12:28 am – Drayton Valley – 52 St – Complainant reported neighbours banging on her door, demanding wifi password. Complainant told them to leave and they returned to their apartment. Members unable to attend at the time, all parties well known to police
12:33 am – Drayton Valley – 46 St – Complainant reported 4 males in a silver Nissan Altima with tinted windows tried to break into his work truck. Complainant went out and yelled and they took off. Nothing damaged or taken. Members patrolled the area but didn’t locate the suspect car
1:22 am – Drayton Valley – 49 St – Complainant called to report loud music coming from below. Complainant called back afterwards advising the suspects had left and the partying had stopped. Member attended the area but the suspects weren’t located
1:52 am – Brazeau County – 50 Ave – Member conducted a traffic stop, male driver provided a mandatory breath sample which resulted in a “caution” result. The class 7 driver was issued provincial driving sanctions and the car was impounded
6:01 am – Drayton Valley – 52 St – Paramedics requested assistance in entering an apartment. Prior to arriving police were cancelled as a property rep had provided access
10:08 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting an Alero ran a stop sign. Member spoke with complainant who had recognized the driver. Member spoke with driver and warned them about their manner of driving.
10:25 am – Drayton Valley – 46 Street – Complainant reporting theft of license plate.
10:55 am – Drayton Valley – 47 Avenue – Complainant reporting a break and enter at foreclosed residence. Members attended, owner of property arrested on outstanding warrants. Owner did not wish any further investigation.
11:39 am – Drayton Valley – 49 Street – Complainant calling to request a wellbeing check. Members checked, all good.
2:26 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Street – Complainant reporting a break and enter that occurred within the last hour. Complainant has reported numerous break and enters to her residence, however nothing taken. Matter is under investigation.
3:23 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – 911 hang-up from Health Services in Drayton Valley. Members attended, no emergency, had trouble dialing out.
8:32 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant advising they heard a loud horn near the Walmart. Member attended, did not hear any loud horns. Member patrolled the area with negative results.
December 13
4:40 am – Brazeau County – Rr 80 – Request to assist Fire Department with vehicle fire. Vehicle had been stolen out of Three Hills. Vehicle towed.
8:46 am – Brazeau County – Complainant called to report a neighbour dispute. Neighbour is driving past their residence in an erratic manner. Complainant feels that this is intentional. Member spoke with both parties who were advised to avoid one another and be mindful of their actions.
9:00 am – Drayton Valley – Drayton Valley Hospital requesting assistance with removal of employee not complying with COVID protocol. Member attended and spoke with complainant and employee. Employee left without issue once advised they must comply with the AHS policy.
9:48 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting a suspicious person. Male is rummaging through the back of a truck. When told to stop, male left. Members found male down the street. Male advised he was looking for bottles. Male advised to not be looking in vehicles or taking anything from vehicles.
2:28 pm – Drayton Valley – Request to serve documents for Barrie Police Service.
3:43 pm – Drayton Valley – 911 hang-up from Drayton Valley Hospital. Ongoing issue.
4:16 pm – Drayton Valley – 56 Street – Complainant reporting harassing communications. Facebook posts are being posted that discredit their reputation. Matter is still under investigation.
4:23 pm – Drayton Valley – 43 Avenue – Complainant calling as daughter is at their boyfriends residence and won’t go with her. Member spoke with both parties. Daughter stayed.
5:58 pm – Drayton Valley – Member attended residence on unrelated matter. No answer at door, however when member queried the vehicles it had an archived plate on it. Licence plate taken
December 14
4:57 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 624 – Request to assist EMS with an unresponsive male in a vehicle in the ditch.
6:32 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting their 2019 Company Chevrolet Truck stolen. Vehicle located shortly after in parking lot of Ramada.
6:50 am – Drayton Valley – 52 Street – Complainant calling to report they were warming up their vehicle when it was stolen. Vehicle is a white Chevrolet 4 door truck.
1:26 PM – Brazeau county – Complainant advised that they were following a plow on the roadway and a bunch of snow kicked up and caused a white out condition. The truck in front stopped abruptly and the complainant slid into the rear end of the vehicle. No injuries
2:17 pm – Drayton Valley – 911 hang-up from Drayton Valley Hospital, ongoing issue
2:36 pm – Drayton Valley – 45 Street – Complainant advised they were assaulted by a group home resident. Member attended, male arrested for assault.
3:25 pm – Drayton Valley – 34 Avenue – Complainant reporting theft of truck from parking lot. Vehicle is a 2000 Black FORD SRW.
4:09 pm – Drayton Valley – 47 Avenue – Member on patrol located a vehicle that had been stolen out of Edmonton.
6:29 pm – Brazeau county – Hwy 620 – Complainant reporting a jack knifed semi truck. Member was en route when they were advised they were able to get the truck back onto the road.
8:09 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting a noise complaint from across the back alley. Neighbour is grinding something. Members patrolled the area and located the van. No one around.
10:04 pm – Drayton Valley – 53 Avenue – Request to assist EMS with male causing a disturbance and was suffering from a back injury. Male declined EMS and had managed to get themselves into the apartment. Member spoke with male who advised they had back problems.
10:29 pm – Brazeau County – RR 72 – Complainant reporting ex is breaching court order. Member determined no breach occurred.
December 15
8:10 am – Drayton Valley – 49 Avenue – Complainant calling to report an abandoned vehicle. Members attended, stolen licence plate on vehicle. Vehicle not registered, not stolen. Member contacted the Registered Owner, vehicle towed.
9:07 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting theft from truck. Back window broken on their 2007 F250 truck. Dash and ignition broken. Various items stolen.
9:58 am – Brazeau County – Complainant calling to request a wellbeing check on child.
10:12 AM – Drayton valley – 911 hang-up from Drayton Valley Hospital, ongoing issue.
10:43 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting suspicious activity. Black jeep is driving around the parking lot. Occupants have their hoods up. Member attended and located vehicle. Driver located and issued a violation ticket for driving with no insurance and drivers licence.
11:44 am – Brazeau County – Complainant advised they were driving when a deer came out of the ditch and collided with their vehicle.
4:25 pm – Brazeau County – Poplar Ridge – Complainant reporting a family dispute. Brother is angry and trying to break into their room. Member attended and spoke with both youth who were fighting over playing with their cat. Members spoke with parents and youth.
4:43 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 39 – Complainant reporting approximately 10 to 12 black cows on Hwy 39. Members attended, no cows located.
5:22 pm – Drayton Valley – 62 Street – Report of a two vehicle collision. Members attended, no injuries. One of the drivers issued a violation ticket for improper turn.
5:41 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant called to report a vehicle in the ditch. Members attended, no persons in or around vehicle. Registered owner contacted. Vehicle towed.
11:08 pm – Drayton Valley – 53 Street – Complainant reporting theft from residence. Both parties have rights to residence. Matter is still under investigation.
December 16
2:47 am – Brazeau County – RR 80 – Member attended residence to conduct a curfew check on individual. Individual not home. Individual to be charged with breaching curfew
