
The Brazeau County Fire Department was busy in the fall.
Brazeau County Fire Chief Tom Thomson delivered the fire department’s statistics for September and October at the County’s Dec. 7 meeting.
Thomson reports there were 76 calls in that period, including 10 fire calls in the County and five in the Town of Drayton Valley.
They also had five calls to motor vehicle collisions on provincial highways, 33 alarm calls, and nine calls to assist other agencies.
Brazeau County is bringing their Subdivision and Development Appeal Board in line with new regulations.
At the County’s Dec. 7 meeting, Council gave three readings to Bylaw 1092-21.
Some of the changes this makes to the Appeal Board is it reduces the number of members, which reduces the number of people that need to be trained.
The changes also allow council to extend the terms of members participating in a hearing until a decision is made to allow for clarity and flow.
Brazeau County is changing up the schedule for the Municipal Planning Commission.
The Commission will now meet on the second Tuesday of the month at 9:30 a.m., or as otherwise required.
This change brings the meeting frequency in line with the Subdivision and Development Authority and the Municipal Planning Commission bylaw.
Brazeau County wants to hear from you on Modeste Campground.
The County has scheduled a public consultation on Jan. 18 to get feedback on the operation of the campground.
The Modeste Campground is one of four campgrounds owned by Brazeau County.
