The Town of Drayton Valley has updated its sponsorship agreements for the new Drayton Valley Brazeau Aquatic Centre.
Sponsors can sign on for a five or 10 year sponsorship plan.
Originally, the sponsorship agreement would go into effect as soon as the lease was signed. But, since the new Aquatic Centre is still under construction, administration realized that a lot of sponsors were not getting their money’s worth.
Administration wanted Town council to revise the current sponsorship agreements so they will begin as soon as the new Aquatic Centre opens.
Town council asked if this would affect how much money they are currently receiving from sponsorship agreements, and administration replied there would be no effect.
Town council voted to make the change.
