Remembrance Day is upon us, when we take a moment to remember those who have served, and in some cases, paid the ultimate sacrifice.
With ongoing COVID-19 restrictions, the Drayton Valley branch of the Royal Canadian Legion will be holding a smaller, outdoor ceremony this year.
The ceremony will be held at the Drayton Valley Cenotaph. People will begin gathering at 10:45 a.m., with the ceremony beginning at 10:50 a.m.
Members of the One Service Battalion from the Edmonton Garrison will be in attendance, along with veterans, members of the RCMP, and other dignitaries.
As part of the ceremony, the Legion will be unveiling nine new names for their wall of honour.
There will be no indoor ceremony this year. However, following the outdoor ceremony, the Legion Lounge will be open, and they will be hosting a silent auction.
Please remember that the Legion is following the Restriction Exemption Program, meaning if you wish to enter the Legion, you will need to show your proof of vaccination, negative COVID-19 test, or exemption.
