The Drayton Valley and District Historical Society is getting a funding boost for the old All-Saints Anglican Church.
The Society has received a $10,000 grant from the UFA Rural Communities Foundation to help restore the Church.
In a statement, the Communities Foundation says that the Church was originally built in 1937, and donated to the Society in 1997.
According to the Foundation, when the Society tore up the old linoleum flooring last year, the Society discovered the original wood flooring was still intact. The grant will be used specifically to restore the flooring.
The Church is located on the grounds of the Drayton Valley Museum. On the Museum’s Facebook page, the Society describes the news as “so exciting,” and extends their thanks to the Foundation.
