Brazeau County is reporting a successful summer for its County Market Tours.
At County council’s Oct. 5 meeting, Economic Development Officer Sandra McIntosh gave a report on their eight County Market Tours.
The plan was to bring attention to County halls by giving home-based businesses an opportunity to sell their goods and services across the county. As the summer progressed, County officials say the number of vendors grew from five to 44, and the final market attracted more than 100 shoppers.
Based on this success, Economic Development is planning to expand the program next year. Officials say they plan to go to more halls, and diversify the kinds of businesses that can take part.
Economic Development predicts it has the potential to grow into a larger business fair.
