Brazeau County will not be asking its staff, contractors, or sub-contractors for their proof of vaccination.
County council has chosen not to ask for it, citing the division in the community that the latest round of COVID-19 restrictions is causing. Council is also sending a letter to Premier Jason Kenney and Minister of Municipal Affairs Ric McIver, passing along the community’s objections.
Brazeau County has ratified its new Intermunicipal Development Plan (IDP) with the Town of Drayton Valley.
The IDP is a policy plan created by the two municipalities to foster cooperation and integrated development between the two. It is designed to help avoid unnecessary costs and negative impacts between the two municipalities.
The IDP now needs to be ratified by the Town of Drayton Valley.
Brazeau County is throwing its support behind Jayden Calvert in her bid to become Miss Rodeo Canada 2022.
Calvert is a Brazeau County resident and Miss Rodeo Sundre 2018. County council is supporting her by purchasing a $100 advertisement in the program guide and providing a silent auction item for a fundraiser fashion show.
