It’s a chance to enjoy some hockey and help send people to college.
This weekend is the Drayton Valley Alumni Hockey Game. This means veteran players from the Edmonton Oilers and Calgary Flames will be filling out their teams with local players from the Drayton Valley area for a game at the Drayton Valley Omniplex.
Some of the players include Theo Flury, Raffi Torres, and Marty McSorley.
All proceeds this year go to the Zero Free Tuition program. It’s a program put together by the Town of Drayton Valley to increase post-secondary opportunities for both students starting their careers, and mature students looking to upgrade their skills.
In addition to the game, the Town will also be hosting a Tailgate Party. The party features a BBQ, DJ, and games for the kids.
All the action takes place on Sept. 19. The Tailgate Party begins at 12:30 p.m. while the puck drops at 3 p.m. Meet and Greets with the players begins at 5:30 p.m.
Great tickets are still available. Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for youth.
